The incredible career of Yannick Bolasie now a Swans player 27th Nov 2023 19:59
Yannick Bolasie has signed a short term deal with the Swans after training with the squad this past eight days. His agent at SSG arranged the move, Yannick was circulated to all Championship clubs. He clearly has impressed head coach Michael Duff and after some drawn out negotiations he has his short term contract. 0

Tim Ream is 36 and still playing Premier League football.

A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

Stanley Matthews played for Stoke until he was 50, saw him playing against us at the Vetch when he was pushing 50, can’t remember if it was a cup or league game.😀

A different generation mate, made of sterner stuff IMO. Weren’t paid anywhere near even by comparison to today. And apparently he was half decent as well 😉

Stanley Matthews was a wonderful player, but also a mean, selfish money grabbing man.

He wouldn't play in charity matches unless he was well paid - no expenses for Stanley.

Everyday above ground ... Is a good day! 😎

I am concerned about Duffs lack of trust in Swansea academy players. His job is to play them and develop them. He gave Azeem a few games. His debut was as a wingback and not his normal position.

I do not think this loan will work out well. I watched a 15 min highlights clip of Bolasie in Turkiye and there were no highlights at all. Just a lot of giving the ball away repeatedly poor control and misplaced passes.

Duff has to be braver and less cautious. Wilson is is better bet. Swansea academy players alway seem to be surprisingly good when give a chance.

It’s just a stop gap until the end of the window. If he does well, then who knows. There’s no doubt we need pace (and directness) and you can’t blame him for adding a bit of experience to a very young team.

You know far more than me about our academy players, but it’s a fair bet Duff knows far more than you. He wasn’t scared to pitch Azeem in at the start of the season.

Again, I’m not certain on this, but a reason they often do well may well be that we only promote the absolute elite to the first team and we do it when they are ready, not when we’ve got injuries.

There’s lots of things I’ll criticise Duff for, but I’m ok with this.
