King Charles made a cool close on £1m a week pay rise last year. £48m in total

It came originally from profits off Offshore wind turbines owned by Crown Estates. The providers get state subsides from the taxpayer and pay fees and possibly a percentage.

It is most probably all tax free. The money comes from electric bill in England and Wales. Not Scotland where Crown Estates is devolved.

KC3. Takes the money in private £48m and dishes out a few thousand presumably to the people struggling as a traditional Christian gesture.

UK needs a new political party based entirely on defending the taxpayer and nothing else.

UK needs to end this monarchy as it stands
Utterly grotesque
Utterly corrupt
Perverted on every way

Whether we should have it or not is debatable but the Monarchy is the least of the countries problems.

The Crown estates made a net profit of £1.1 billion in 2024/25.
All of this profit is paid to the government for them to waste on benefits to those who refuse to work.

We don't need a communist government who's leaders would funnel this money into their private bank accounts like Russia.

Try not to make bitchy comments every time you debate with me kindly. Max does it too. I have upset him somewhere down the line. My. landslide POTY win in 2023 did not go down well in all quarters.

The King notionally own Crown estates and takes a substantial cut of its profits thought to be 11%. I have read 25% elsewhere. The Crown estate owns off shore area of the English and Welsh coast. It therefore can profit from it.

The Tories banned onshore wind farms a few years back so the Kings income rocketed.

It is understood the King will use some of his massive profits to renovate homes he lives in. I am pointing out if he pays to renovate buildings the Welsh electricity bills.payers and other are the ones who actually paid.

Not true.A chunky slice of the profits went to the King himself . There may be an understanding that the old man will not waste it on 13 butlers helicopter s f and fancy trimmings but actually use it to maintain the property's he owns.

All this is blurred of course.

Some of YOUR electricity charges is going to the king to keep him is the style he is accustomed to and deserves. GSTK..

In Scotland the profits go to the Scots because it is devolved. Labour and Plaid have tentatively pressed to take control of Crown estate in Wales but it has been rejected.

Interestingly neither Eluned nor Iorweth have raised the issue of the kings ,£1m a week pay rise. The type of voter who support Reform and the Tories have always supported English control of Welsh resources. Wood Iron Coal Water and now Wind.

Cymru am byth. GSTK.

We don’t have to have a communist government
We need a fairer society and our monarchy shows exactly why it’s not
Still Beatrice and Eugenie have been invited to Ascot on June
We need to unite this country not divide
Our monarchy has never wanted to change the status quo as they feed off largesse on grotesque fashion
They are grotesque by nature

To be fair Beatrice and Eugenie shouldn’t be destroyed because of the degenerate actions of their perverted, feckless parents.

On all fairness , they’d be stupor beyond belief if they were unaware of what their parents are all about
They feed off the same pig trough
They are detached from normality as we know it
I have utter contempt for them
They make me genuinely feel physically sick

I am not a fan of the institution but tolerate it because it is an English things and they appear to value it to ridiculous extremes.

I expect ( Being part of the Union) the English tolerate and financially back Welsh things like semi autonomous rule and the language and our only international airport.

Some pro English elements in Wales want to defund our institutions. Zia Yousuf came to Wales as our guest and behaved disgracefully incredibly coming here a d threatening us and our institutions like Bangor University.

He should have got a flea in his ear.

Buck House the tourist trap , Charlie Boy with William and Catherine are the last chance to make The Royal Family right and what a job they have on their hands now .

The Spare in America spouting off nonsense with his wannabee Holywood other half .

All the palaces could be given over to the country and the admission fees would ensure serious income
It’s about the history and architecture and they would remain
We don’t need the entitled leeches living in them

There are some who think that all property on death should be handed over to the state. We don't need entitled leeches living in them or worse still selling them and receiving money they haven't worked for.

The only reasons people don’t want to get rid of them are
1 They bring on tourists
2 What would replace them

What they should go is cut the civil list or whatever it’s called now and have only the Monarch family subsidised
They should have done this voluntarily years ago

Monarchies don’t have to be this huge

My son lived in The Hague for 7 years and regularly saw both the King and his wife out cycling around Wassenaar area
He did a charity canal swim and the Queen herself too part
No big show either
We’ve been to a Vets Day there and Will Alex was right in the middle drinking beer with the Vets like one of the lads . Minimal but effective security
He’s very popular there

There are very accessible

We have 600 of those in parliament and shortly 96 in the Senedd. I would rather abolish the Senedd and the house of Lords than have a president with the huge cost of all his private staff.

Agree with that too
No need for a Senate
No need for HoL
We need to end this anachronistic largesse
We won’t though
