I’m surprised betting company sponsorship is still allowed. In my opinion, it shouldn’t be. Ruins far too many lives. You wouldn’t see cigarette or alcohol companies anywhere today for the same reason I.e. how it affects lives. |  |

Absolute brilliant article. As some one who works in advertising and marketing, it always surprises me the amount of stumbling blocks and navigating through sponsors. Keith, correct me if I'm wrong, but surely the club couldn't of allowed someone negotiate and come close to agreeing a betting sponsorship for them to have alarm bells going off, and Gorringe learns the issues that can arise while at the coffee machine 😂. Joking aside, something is off and it will be interesting to see what the sponsor is. I tell you this, if I ever run a football club in another life 😂😂, I'm keeping your article as a template for a club never go near betting sponsors. 😂 | | | |

I wouldn’t think it is appropriate to comment on what happened behind the scenes as I haven’t got all the facts. However, a few people ‘left’ around that time. Something went wry that’s for certain. It’s a huge thing, a new shirt for supporters, Sunderland fans were queuing at 6:45am a good few hundred meters down the road. I think we miss the true meaning of merchandise, the lack of build up and advertising, and the new shirt release day and add ons.
What I do know is that the new shirt was manufactured in Toledo, and the general feeling is it went to Manchester for the new sponsors logo. It’s desperately sad our commercial team hasn’t the drive to make big things massive. |  |

It’s a huge thing, a new shirt for supporters, Sunderland fans were queuing at 6:45am a good few hundred meters down the road. I think we miss the true meaning of merchandise, the lack of build up and advertising, and the new shirt release day and add ons.
What I do know is that the new shirt was manufactured in Toledo, and the general feeling is it went to Manchester for the new sponsors logo. It’s desperately sad our commercial team hasn’t the drive to make big things massive. |
After several years of American ownership I cannot believe they have allowed the commercial team get away with such amateur actions…or lack of professionalism. Not only is it embarrassing but it appears it will be costing our club money….potentially an awful lot. | | | |

Can’t see the Swans spending without knowing the future mate. Any betting deal would have been round 1.5M a year but as stated in the report if the Swans went up that would collapse as there’s no betting sponsorship allowed in the EPL.

Im just getting a bit jittery the longer it goes on. One thing I will say is if any contact needs to be cancelled if we are promoted it could be a master stroke enabling us to get Premier League sponsorship money without being tied to a current long term deal. | | | |
