He's often on Talksport or he was, talks a lot of sense seems like he's a proper football man.
Good read it's a shame to see these lads come up through the ranks in the Academy and them not getting decent chances in the first team, makes you wonder has to why we bother and it must be putting other youngsters off from joining.
I understand that quality rises to the top, but some who have shown some quality don't seem to get the rub of the green here, some who have, have been poached though which is unfortunate not sure if any have made the grade or have had a run in the teams they've gone to though. |  | | |

Lot I agree with here. They do need to get chances. Realistically they're going to find them harder to come by at this level, which is why getting them out on loan as early as possible to the best teams that will have them is so important. |  |

Disappointed to hear this as he looks set to join a long line of academy players who never have really been given a fair chance in the first team squad. It seems that a number of managers seem more willing to give foreign players a chance because the statistics say so. Good luck to him, always looked one of the better players in the junior ranks throughout the age groups |  | | |

I read somewhere the Cat 2 academy costs £2m annually .
Swansea is churning out league 1or 2 ready footballers not Championship or Premier league..
The team of 3 years ago produced Abdullai Wilson Cotterill Congreve Margetson Morgan and Lissah. Abdullai and Lissah was a joy to watch. Selling them maybe for upto to £6m pays for the academy for 3 years or will have shaved off a chunk of costs. Cullen was older and generated more cash hopefully . This is more than the club got for their PL bound Captain Grimes.
The Cat 1 academy produced Championship and PL players. The Cat 2:Lissah and a group of League 1 and 2 footballers. [Post edited 13 Aug 20:20]
