There are so many young players who never reach the potential that some hope they have, including players we have moved on thats just football, sometimes the decision is right sometimes its wrong.

Youngsters peak at different ages. I can remember watching Jimmy Loveridge playing on Cwm Level Park and honestly thinking he was going to be the next George Best. Yes,Jimmy had a good career in football but never reached the heights I thought he would.

Right place at the time? Josh Sheehan looked very assured in a Welsh shirt, would he have been a better play if given the chance to play with better players?

Another one we kept too long. He was 22 when he finally left permanently and had barely played 50 games.

You are spot on. As a side note always like your posts- dont know who you are but you seem to have a good tactical knowledge of the game. Keep the posts going š

Of course but we were in the premier league at the time. It is so hard for a youngster to get game time over established stars. I often wonder what opportunities Ben Davies would have had if Neil Taylor hadnāt broken his leg and we had no choice but to chuck him in sink or swim? Perhaps sometimes managers need to be braver and give these players a chance but you can understand with the pressure of the premier league why they donāt.

When we were at our peak I had an invitation to visit the new acadamy in Landore and was given a presentation by the then head of the acadamy at the time was it Nigel Rees ? (not sure). Always remember him saying "Out of all the youngsters currently on the books here today sadly it may only be one who is likely to make it at the top level". Found it so sad that so many youngsters would have their dreams and aspirations dashed. [Post edited 8 Aug 12:06]

Have commented on Ben's fortune before he or should I say the team did get caught out when Ben came in we had the inside ball curving out to the opposing winger caused us problems, as a set of players that avenue was shut down. Quality players to aid a young player or a player rising to the quality around him. That issue of we are in the Premier league is being seen not with the team in the Championship sometimes it takes one step back to go forward did it take Cardiff relagation to finally get the youngsters up to speed for promotion, we will see how they fair this season, hopefully we can use the experience gained last season to press on this season and confirm the best team in the league.
| Iwan Morgan leaves Brentford on 13:49 - Aug 8 with 2437 views | ReslovenSwan1 | Iwan Morgan has been missing from Welsh u21 teams. I assumed he had a bust up. Perhaps there were player playing better than him at the time. Ben Lloyd and Dan Watts are awaiting decisions.. Watts was on Spain. Kiod was not from memory. Another loan or sale ? Did not Swansea pick up £1m or so? Good business in hindsight. [Post edited 8 Aug 13:51]
