Long Season for Cardiff
at 18:42 19 Aug 2019

[Cardiff] fans thinking that they'll finish above [Swansea]. That's being cocky.
[Swansea] fans thinking that they'll finish above [Cardiff]. That's being realistic.

I think that that's more likely to be the team selection in the Cup match v Cambridge next week.

It looks like the manager likes staying with a settled side wherever possible, so it'll be the same one as started against Preston (I think).

If we'd had Chinese owners instead of Yanks.
at 18:23 19 Aug 2019

We got very lucky.

https://www.amnesty.org/en/countries/asia-and-the-pacific/china/

I hope that we never get owned by the mouthpieces of a dictatorship that is currently carrying out ethnic and religious cleansing on a vast scale, not just against the Tibetans and the Uighurs but elsewhere as well.

Don't try and join an independent trade union either. “In May, labour activists Hua Haifeng, Li Zhao and Su Heng were detained in Jiangxi province while investigating work conditions at Huajian shoe factories. The activists were released on bail in June but remained under close surveillance. In July, a Guangzhou court sentenced labour activist Liu Shaoming to four and a half years’ imprisonment for publishing his reflections about joining the pro-democracy movement and becoming a member of China’s first independent trade union in 1989, and experiences during the 1989 Tiananmen crackdown.”

May not like Trump but at least he was democratically elected and can be democratically unelected unlike the dictator for life in China.

Agent Williams gone to the Wurzels...
at 15:18 19 Aug 2019

He was available on a free transfer, and I see that Michel Vorm is as well, and I'm surprised he hasn't found a club yet. Speaking of our ex-keepers, whatever happened to Tremmel, is he still working for Swansea?

I'm guessing, and it is a complete guess, that this will cost the club up to £200,000 until the end of the season? So it's a significant amount but it's bearable.

This was posted by ploppy on the match thread.

"I believe WBA top us by virtue of more goals scored away from home (which is not difficult!). It's pretty far down the list of tie-breakers."

Also wasn't paid his expenses. Also was promised a better contract if he kept them up, which he did and the owner went back on his word. How could anyone stay in that situation.

I think he's gone up in most people's estimation.

We're above Millwall who also have 7 points.

The Guardian has us in 3rd in their table.

It's good to see that the Preston fans are taking it well.

"Wales can just f#:k right off... Hate the place with a passion.. Max boyce, sheep, mining, red dragons, gareth bail, millennium stadium, rarebit, choral singing, dual road signs, rhyl sun centre....... F&:k right off......"

"rarebit. A virgin in Swansea?"

Then we're all agreed.

Not if they can't keep a clean sheet ... or keep letting their opponents score first ... or lose Baston and/or Ayew.

Oh buggr it, I can't keep this pessimism up. I've booked a day off work for the QPR match, so QPR 0-4 Swansea!

Watching them watching us.

While lurking on their fans forum it seems that some of them have also been coming here.

Go to the 2nd page for their main thoughts about us and a very old football clip.

"Jack Army members are reminded that home tickets are discounted for the 2019-20 season when purchased through its Jack Army membership scheme." I didn't know that.

As for the match, Preston have some good forwards so I'll go a nervous 2-1 to us with Preston scoring first.

Also Bristol Rovers are at home. Trains to and from Paddington will be packed if any two of those are on the same evening.
