Tens of thousands of Bulgarians are being asked to fly in to pick our fruit and veg. However no planes currently scheduled to do that.

Darran isn't the 1st person on here to be fooled by a fake website.

This genuinely is Fake News.

Young or old, anyone here like zoo animals ?

The animal I'm most like is definitely a sloth.

It sounds like a great idea though.

9,250km of public rights of way open in Powys
at 14:51 27 Mar 2020

Sounds like a good idea. Cutting rights of way would be like cutting roads. It would be forcing us to all walk together on the same streets that remained.

It's not like closing the National Parks: nobody is going to drive there just to walk along a right of way.

If this is an online quiz to keep our spirits up, shouldn't you have started with an easier question?

How many times were the Swans promoted in the last 20 years?

A Letter From Italy

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/mar/27/a-letter-to-the-uk-from-italy-this

They're 2 weeks ahead of us, and we're copying them almost identically so I thought that this was interesting.

For example, "You will make appointments in the supermarket queues with your friends and lovers, so as to briefly see them in person, all the while abiding by the social distancing rules."

Which means that he isn't.

That's not unusual. Most Tory PMs from London used it as an office and lived at home. I doubt if Sunak is living at Number 11.

Traffic Wardens
at 11:06 26 Mar 2020

"inches"? What medieval language be this? How long is this in roods or furlongs?

If traffic wardens are still being forced to work then the lock down is a joke and we'll all be under curfew within a week.

And every one of us still lucky to be working should give something to charity above and beyond what we normally do, Shelter Cymru, for example, but there are plenty of others that deserve something from us.

On a side note, I wouldn't call the French"natural surrenderers". After all, their boys defended the lines at Dunkirk and some died doing it while our boys ran away (cough, evacuated), it was the right decision but still... They then fought on for weeks afterwards while we were back home.

And in World War One just look up the battle of "Verdun" in Wikipedia or wherever and you'll change your mind.

[I took my own advice and just did that: "The battle lasted for 302 days, the longest and one of the most costly in human history. In 2000, Hannes Heer and Klaus Naumann calculated that the French suffered 377,231 casualties and the Germans 337,000, a total of 714,231, an average of 70,000 a month." And it was the French who won, not the Germans.]

Diversion over, swerve back to the real story.

President Trump's approval rating has now risen to 49%, which is the highest that he has ever had during his Presidency.

To clarify, that's half the people in the country (not just Republicans, but Democrats and neutrals as well) who think that he is doing a good job.

I'm saying nothing, because I really don't know what to say about that.

Lots of great posts here that made me laugh.

Yesterday I read a BBC article about someone setting up a website for people who wanted to "Shop Local". Did anyone else read it or have a link for it?
