Burns on loan
at 12:42 29 Jan 2022

Realist without the necessary facts perhaps?

Swansea have 6 player on loan developing and getting game time. Hopefully Brandon can join them. Garrick, Ollie Cooper, Cullen, Whittaker, Williams D and Webb. All with only less than half a season under their belts. They should play every week. Some will make it as Championship player others will not sadly.

McFadyan and Cameron Evans are in the u23 and not far away from the first team squad. Jasper has high hopes for 3 or 4, 17 year olds in the u23's who are improving.

Swansea have Downes, ,Piroe, Obafemi, Cabango and joseph in the first team squad.

Swansea city have solid foundations and a long term joined up plan for the post parachute era.

The loan with a huge question mark, Finley Burns to sign for Swansea City ?
at 12:17 29 Jan 2022

Hopefully it will allow Brandon Cooper to go on loan and get game time in league 1. He still only has 30 impressive games under his belt. Another 25 will do him good. Finlay at 18 will get 10- 15 games perhaps.

Swansea now have Webb, Willaims D, Cooper B (?) Cooper O, Cullen, Garrick and Whittakker all developing nicely in leagues below. This is given them their best chance. All are around 20-22 and all short of game time. (less than one full season) This problem needed sorting and has been dealt with.

Joseph Piroe, Obafemi, Cabango and Downes are young fellows at currently a higher level turning out in the first team squad doing pretty good.

Your negative spin is tiresome. Old man whinging.

Steve Cooper brought in these loan players in his time at Swansea mostly from his England squads

Woodman, Willmott, Guehi, Gallagher, Gibbs White, Brewster, Surridge. Goykeres also but not from England. 7 or 8 players,

He also failed to send to many on loan Benda a season, Brandon 6 months (brought back early) and Garrick 6 month.

I give opinions. That is all.

It is a reasonable point you have made however Mr Allen has kudos from a long time working at Manchester city. Had the club not got anyone from there would doubts. On hope McAtee will be directed to Swansea based on networking considerations and playing style.

Swansea do not extend Pato's deal. What happens next?
at 11:45 29 Jan 2022

Quote - "Answer this, if a player said he was refusing to play, what is the point in extending? If no one comes in for him you are stuck with a player and his wages and that will only cause trouble."

Your judgement is poor and your grasp of the situation weak. The contract is not a problem while the window is open. The point of extending is £500,000 the easiest money the club will make . Pato would gladly accept any offer to scrap his contract. He has £11k pw waiting form him somewhere in the midlands.

Pato started playing hard ball and has had his backside handed to him along with a one way ticket out of the club.

It at least demonstrates that Mr Allen can get deals with the richest team in the world (almost) with the best coach in the world and some of world's best players. Wales on line suggesting that Swansea are first in line for the other two highly rated prospects as well if they decide to loan them. McAtee and the young wing back. Bravo to Mr Allen.

Swansea can do both. Bring in a very high quality player (from Manchester city) and develop Brandon Cooper. Brandon is the future but has only got 30 games under his belt at 22. The club is getting its prospects out on loan. Too many are all at the same stage early twenties with less than a seasons worth games under their belts.

The club philosophy has changed from 'Cooperball' where results were all that mattered to a more developmental style. Cooperball was bad for Whittaker, Cullen, Ollie Cooper and Brandon Cooper as they all played very little, developed little and were part of a squad behind England u17 loan players. This has changed under Allen and Martin. Why would Steve Cooper worry he was on his way anyway. Allen at least should b staying a while and hopefully Martin.

Swansea were never a quick fix club. It is about long term development and growth. I have highlight the "dirty Dozen". Cabango, Downes, Obafemi are first teamers and 6 or 7 others playing regularly on loan and not before time.

DC or not DC ? That is the question

Arriola traded to FC Dallas making room for Dhanda perhaps? It remains to be seen if young Yann is "super excited" to go to the USA. Both attacking midfield players and Dhanda should be a good "locker room guy" too.

Brad Smith may be the guy who came through the Liverpool academy went to Cardiff on loan and never really cut it over here.

Your answer is then b) presumably. I suspect there was a stand off well before this.

The Manager said "Pato's deal has been extended early so we do not need to worry about this ANYMORE".

You have not answered the question a), b) or c) and I do not blame you.

Its subtle. Second hand information is irrelevant. Had the deal not been extended in my view would make little difference to fans. He still would not be playing.

The point I am making is that in all probability Pato had declined to play for Swansea city before the extension. He was perhaps quoted wages based on him being a free transfer signing in the Summer. He could therefore not play another 3 games.

It will happen again whether you like it or not. Its called free speech. Some people will not understand the thread it is a little 'subtle'. If people do not understand this subtlety do not worry about it. The forum is a broad church and i do not insult anyone.

Where did you get this fact? I do not accept this scenario without evidence.

Why did the club extend early as Pato would already have extended automatically by now with out it?

I believe Pato might have already informed the club of his reluctance to play on. This and this coincided with reported Covid or other injuries concerns .

I have asked what happened next.a) b) or c). You have not answered.

Walsh might be the type of player who needs s run of games to get in the groove. He looks like a classic Swansea player to me. He may simple be rusty as that shocking pass v Southampton indicates. Another that could go to USA or RoI for much needed game time if he does not kick on before March.

Fake narrative. He is not a 'bad debt'. He is an employee doing i his best in training but not sufficiently well to get into the first team. Unlike Narsingh for example he is not content to running around a pitch and take his wages running down his contract. He deserves some respect for that.

I am putting it out there that Pato had already decided he was not playing anymore games.

I have put to you a scenario where the contract was not extended. Nothing would be different Pato would not be playing. Some people can think between the lines others just accept narratives.

"Pato was upset at the extension that is why he is on strike". I say false.

More likely Pato told Martin he was not playing any more. Only then did Swansea city activate the extension early. Big difference. Some can understand the difference other do not have the mental capacity.

Pato has not agreed the extension or else regrets it. I am suggesting it is irrelevant to Pato as he was not going to play extension or not.

I would love to see Brandon Cooper go to the MLS with DC United on loan. If I was 21 again I would see a season in the US would be a huge opportunity. For one thing I am unsure how the standards compare. I believe Paul Arriola for example is a quality player. Sniffy Swansea fans do not see him anywhere near the first XI.

Based on this attitude Brandon Cooper would walk into the DC United side. The other benefit is that the US season is a summer season like the RoI so Brandon would get game time until late October and this season will not be seen as time lost.

MLS is ion free to air TV as well at least it was last season on Freesports TV. I would enjoy seeing Dhanda and Brandon impressing out there.

US ownership is good for Swansea city and synergies should be used.
