Technically yes but it's QPR employing the lawyers and fighting for it to go through - the COO Mark Donnelly is heavily involved with it.

Where have I said that? You'll find I haven't. What I've said is I dont think we'll break ground or finish it in it's current guise - I do not think Bungle has the minerals for it. FFP is of no consequence -- you can spend what you like on player development as far as I am aware. Point in case is Man City's mega millions academy capital outlay (for the building) which falls outside of judged t/over or costs. The state of the club and it's finances is the source of the minerals. What a shame that we won't have the funds.... even if the costs were amortised I cannot see it being sanctioned. I really, really, really hope this happens and if it does get started and finished in the next two years then kudos to Bungle and Hoos etc. Obtaining Planning, breaking ground within 2 years and then finishing a project are all separate things. 25 days and counting

Ealing Council are 'gifting' QPR a 200 year lease on the land in exchange for all the community facilities being built at no cost to them. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

The original stated budget was £30m - if that isn't trimmed significantly it would suggest the long term commitment to a new stadium is still on too IMHO.

Was it? Wow... shows you how long I've been out of the new build sector and how little I now know about leisure developments. I thought it would be about £12mill. I judged that by the expenditure levels at Gunnersbury Park nearby with their changing rooms, leisure centre and pitch upgrade budget I'd heard about. I'll be even more amazed now although thinking about it - a loan from a benefactor to the club at x + % interest in return for the facility being called "The Fernandez Facility" could well be a way forward. This being ring fenced from FFP is about the only good thing about FFP... (Side note... FFP does NOT stand for Fernandez's Foolish Policies)

Warren Farm on 15:59 - Mar 26 with 2170 views | onlyrinmoray | It annoys me that Tony Fernandes/ "bungle " is still getting grief from some on here regards Warren Farm He has been the only owner with the long term vision to improve training facilities so that we can set up an academy to attract young players who parents weren't impressed with our current run down facilities. We can blame him for wasting his money on crap players (who I assume our managers wanted to sign ) but give him a break over Warren Farm. If the locals, well a small minority, hadn't blocked the proposal over the past 5 years.Unfortunately its called local democracy The facility would be there now. Like others have said it could be a Tesco or heaps more houses and not a greenfield in sight

http://www.trainingground.guru/articles/qpr-take-massive-step-towards-new-traini It does add that they hope to get £4m back by trucking in useless overpriced ex-players and managers as landfill to level the site...

Warren Farm on 16:56 - Mar 26 with 2024 views | MedwayR | I can understand the lack of belief from some but I'm sure the club will follow through on this as 1) they could've walked away from this a long time ago 2) they've spent a lot of money on it to date 3) they won't get a better opportunity to secure a site, particularly one which also offers the ability to grow our fanbase through community initiatives 4) I'm sure it'll save the club money as we won't need to rent multiple sites. That's all in addition to the obvious advantages of having a modern training ground which will be fundamental to our focus on developing players.

"QPR had said they would invest £30 million into the project." Small change really compared to all the money wasted on crap footballers and managers. I dont think anybody can blame the skepticism from some, me included. Theres obviously a lot more hurdles along the way but hopefully we're over this steeple jump. (yes i know you dont get hurdles in a steeple jump race)

Yes, but is the lease going to be held in the club's name or someone else's (ie the club's owners)?

Your continuing negativity on our chairman is really getting tedious. The only people who have suffered financially from mistakes they made are the owners. The club has minimal debt and it’s operations are continuing to be financed by the same owners. The pay made mistakes, sure, no one including the owners are denying it, but equally they have now remained committed to the club when they could easily have bailed. They will get the new training ground, something which will be an amazing thing for us after so long of suffering from far worse mismanagement and financial ruin by previous owners who have shafted us right royally. Grow up.

I'm 99.9% that it'll be in the club's name as it's the club that submitted a bid & plans for the land. It'll be a club asset that will make the club more valuable and attractive should our current owners wish to sell the club.
