was the difference for me today. They seemed more organised than usual and that confidence in the defence seemed to spur the attacking four on to commit to the final third.

Not sure he's the future at Right Back but his voice was appreciated today. Not sure how injured Leistner is but give him a go at CB maybe?

It was a smart selection to pick him at rb and Wallace at lb. As we didn't have a big lump up front it gave Lumley something to aim at when going long with goal kicks etc.

I was very doubtful when I saw him line up there, I was expecting it to be Amos at rb and two holding midfielders when I saw the team at 2pm. It worked well today but I wouldn't expect it to be a regular thing.

It was very good selection, kudos to the management.

Listening to the post-match interview, it does seem like it might be a one-off, or at least a rarely-used trick.

4 x 6 footers makes sense with so many shorties in rest of side.

Losing the back post has cost us so many points this season. Of course Brentford a much greater test than an unusually powder puff Cardiff side.

Might be in there at CB now Barbet and Leistner are injured.

Ya, he might.

Leistener walked off, though, and they didn't even try to treat him. Hopefully just a case of being so far ahead that you say "right, off you come - the water's hot and we only have one pack of jaffa cakes left".

What I liked about Cameron at right back he did not try anything fancy - if it doubt lump it away and re-group. If the ball is up the other end of the pitch they cannot score.

I thought playing Amos and Ball in the centre of the park was the key.

I'd imagine Cameron can play CB and RB if needed, handy player to have.

Norgaard, Canis and Watkins. Man mark those three at Brentford and we may get something out the game. Stifle Norgaard and Canis and put two on Norgaard to nullify the supply line. Those three generally combine for most of their goals.

Never knowingly right.

Do you think the pitch at home is a little tighter so playing older heads like Cameron and Wallace at fullback doesn't expose them the same as at some away grounds?
No idea pitch dimensions at Brentford etc but possible MW was thinking Cardiff would be more direct so could put in his line of 6 footers knowing less threat around the edges with more skillful opposition?

Edit. Missed first hour of the game so can't comment on what happened tbh!

She was still playing not that long ago for Orkney Women, at least 52.
Did see a recent team photo and they'd be lucky to all add up to her age, thankfully giving youth a chance

The size of the pitch is about average for the Championship. It is the closeness of the fans that give the illusion of a small pitch.

Had to check since I made the point.

According to Wiki
LR is 102m x 66m

Theres 1 pitch (Fulham 65m) narrower and Luton & Brum the same. Average seems to be 68m, Forest is 71m.
Average length seems to be 105m.

Being pedantic I do think the average of 1mt each wing does make a bit of difference and the enclosed feeling probably adds to it as well.

Ive never been but the Cottage according to Wiki is smallest pitch 100 x 65mt, does it feel the smallest pitch as a spectator?

Its common misconception that LR is a small pitch. It's certainly nowhere near the biggest but the enclosed nature feeds the "tight pitch" cliche.
