Season Ticket renewals. 21:51 - Sep 2 with 26499 viewsEsox_Lucius

I was chatting on the phone tonight with Dave Thomas and we spent a long time discussing what lay ahead for us both. We are both now in the seniors category so and fans likely to be allowed back in the ground wouldn't include us, and most of the friends we have both made in many, many years whilst we have been going to W12 and around the country.
This would mean the end of our regular seats in the Upper Loft through no fault of our own and the thought of buying a season ticket whilst not being allowed in the stadium doesn't sound in the least bit attractive on a fixed income. Sitting in a stadium with just a few thousand fans who are not allowed to sing or cheer doesn't set the body tingling either and the whole issue of entry and egress, coupled with toilet breaks means it is going to be fairly unworkable.
Having had a lifelong viewpoint of don't just keep coming up with problems, come up with solutions I had a think. Foremost in my thinking is...
*The club need money to survive and season tickets form an integral part of that each season.
*I don't want to pay for something I am not going to be able to use for the foreseeable future.
*I don't want to give up my seat in the Upper Loft.
* I am not interested in swapping out my matchday ticket for a stream.
What I came up with was to permit the club to take out the direct debit as normal once they are ready to do so and offer a number of options as to what fans want to do with that season ticket.
Redeem it with a stream for home and away matches until such a time as fans are allowed back into the stadium in a reduced and managed capacity.
Redeem it with a stream for home and away matches until such a time as fans are allowed back into the stadium in the normal fashion.
Neither of the above but, for the duration of the period before normal service is resumed, each match ticket not used is credited towards the following seasons season ticket on a one for one basis.
This would allow fans who sit together to retain their group of seats and still allow the club to get much needed funding.
Thoughts?

The grass is always greener.

Good stuff.

Very glad for you all. Best of luck in the ballot.

Whenever that may be - of course nothing the club can do about that.

I should have added that Lee Hoos is going to be available next week for a fans (on line) Q & A it says.

With the 2020/21 league season commencing on Saturday 12th September we are able to update supporters on our ticketing strategy for the upcoming season.

We appreciate the patience shown from Season Ticket holders during these unprecedented circumstances as we have worked with the EFL and Government during an ever-changing situation.

Further to Government proposals relative to sporting events, the Club is working on the basis that supporters may be able to attend matches during October and has developed a ticketing strategy in preparation.

The number of 2020/21 Season Ticket holders is likely to exceed the reduced capacity available at Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium in-line with current social distancing measures. As a result, the Club has put a ticketing strategy in place to ensure all Season Ticket holders are provided with a number of options ahead of the season.

Season Ticket Holders

All 2020/21 Season Ticket holders will be provided with streaming access and a pro-rata credit for each game played behind closed doors or if they are unable to attend through limited capacity for the upcoming season.

Free streaming access will be available on QPR+ to all 2020/21 Season Ticket holders for all HOME and MIDWEEK AWAY league games as a result of the flexible framework agreed by the EFL and Sky Sports.

All fans who purchase a Season Ticket prior to 5pm on Thursday 10th September will be sent a unique QPR+ code ahead of our opening league fixture against Nottingham Forest on Saturday 12th September. Supporters should ensure their QPR Club Account is up to date with their correct details including email to ensure they receive this. You can login to your QPR Club Account HERE.

Supporters who purchase a Season Ticket after 5pm on Thursday 10th September will still be entitled to a free QPR+ voucher, and these will be sent out as soon as possible.

Please note, this free stream offering is subject to change by the EFL without notice and is beyond the control of QPR.

Supporters will be able to watch weekend away games by purchasing a QPR+ match pass for £10 per fixture.

Season Ticket holders will receive a pro-rata ticketing credit for all 2020/21 league games they are unable to attend due to fixtures being played behind closed doors or due to limited capacity. The pro-rata credit will be calculated as 1/23rd of the season ticket purchase price for each fixture you cannot attend. The pro-rata credit will be released to season ticket holders at the end of the 2020/21 season.

Season Tickets for the current campaign will remain on sale until 2nd October.

Balloting

2020/21 Season Ticket holders will have prioritised entry for all limited capacity fixtures this season and will be able to apply for tickets through a balloting system.

Following discussions with the Supporters’ Consultation Committee, it was agreed that while longevity of support is commended, it was important to give as many Season Ticket holders as possible the opportunity to see as many matches as possible. Therefore, all 2020/21 Season Ticket holders will be treated equally, irrespective of how many years a fan has held a season ticket in previous years.

Successful applicants for the ballot in respect of any game will be informed via email and receive a digital ticket. Supporters not on email will receive written confirmation.

Further instructions on the balloting process will be provided in due course. The Club are working to provide fair and equitable access to Season Ticket holders for all limited capacity fixtures. The process for Season Ticket holders to enter the ballot will depend on a number of factors still to be confirmed, including:

- The number of 2020/21 Season Ticket holders participating in the ballot process

- The number of our Sky Bet Championship home games operating under reduced capacity

- The permitted capacity for each of those Sky Bet Championship home games

Season Ticket holders who are unsuccessful in the ballot will receive a pro-rata credit to their ticketing account for this fixture. They will also receive priority within the subsequent ballot for the next fixture.

The club reserves the right to adjust seat allocation as necessary in order to maximise attendance.

Bubbles

2020/21 Season Ticket holders will be able to apply for tickets in their chosen bubbles. Each applicant within the chosen bubble would be required to have a 2020/21 Season Ticket.

Applicants will be asked to confirm at the point of selection that their group complies with government guidelines relative to social distancing.

Supporters can also form a social bubble with one other household for the purpose of an outdoor sporting event. When the balloting information is released you will have the opportunity to confirm the total number in your social bubble should you combine with another household of Season Ticket holders.

As part of the process of maximising the number of fans we can accommodate within the stadium, supporters within social bubbles will have a greater chance of success through the ballot process. However, you are reminded of the importance of adhering to all government guidelines regarding who is permitted within your social bubble.

In order to ensure that as many supporters as possible can be admitted for each game under reduced capacity, Season Ticket holders will NOT be guaranteed access to their normal seat or price category during this time, while some fans may be given a seat with restricted view.

If this presents a significant issue for you, we advise you not to enter the ballot system and instead request a refund on your season ticket as the club’s priority at this time is to maximise the number of supporters we can have in the stadium. Accommodating Season Ticket holders’ price categories will prevent us from achieving this.

Direct Debit Scheme

As a result of the changes made to the 2020/21 season schedule, the Direct Debit plan will now reduce from 10 to 8 monthly payments.

Season Ticket holders enrolled on the Direct Debit Scheme will have their first payment taken on Thursday 1st October. Supporters will receive notification of their first payment via email 10 days before it is taken.

Any Season Ticket holders who wish to amend their payment details or have any enquiries regarding their Direct Debit payments should email boxoffice@qpr.co.uk

Season Ticket Renewals

Given the current circumstances the Club understand there is still uncertainty regarding the upcoming season. As a result, all fans who purchased a season ticket in 2019/20 are guaranteed they will be able to retain their seat for the 2021/22 campaign even if they do not purchase a season ticket for the current season. Therefore, seat move requests will not be actioned for 20/21 season.

Further information can be found HERE.

QPR CEO Lee Hoos will address all the above in a Q&A which will be used across club channels next week

I personally won't be going because I'm over 70 with a heart problem but I do think although the virus is on an increase there are hardly any semi fit people actually dying from it. In fact a large amount of people have had it and not known about it. They could quite easily have 50-60% capacity at grounds. Maybe with mask worn when travelling .

I’ve renewed just now based on that.

I may be misinterpreting it but it seems to me that if I apply for the ballot and lose out they’ll refund me 1/23rd of my ST and do so every time that happens, but i’ll retain the ability to watch it on the stream. Assuming I have a 50% chance of getting in, that means I’m paying half the price of my ST to watch half the games live and the rest on a stream; I don’t think that’s bad a deal. Admittedly the club will not refund until the end if the season, but I’m fine with that.

Is it a refund or is it just 1/23rd refund per game credited to your account to use against next seasons ticket? I think they need to clear that up.

It says the refund is at the end of the season. So I'd assume most people will credit against next years ST.

Its credit I think.

The big problem here as I read it is for someone like me who goes on their own, has had a season ticket for 20 years + did not take the refund to keep funding in the club, gets far less chance of going than someone in a bubble of 4 linked with another bubble of 4. If they make sure the weighting is even to each season ticket holder then fine, but if not its a bit of a kick in the teeth

Yes, it does seem that solitary ST holders will end up seeing fewer live matches. Sadly though, I think it may end up being academic. I'm currently up north visiting relatives and the complete disregard for distancing and mask wearing is astonishing. Small wonder new cases of Covid are rising so fast. I don't doubt that it will be the same when I return to the smoke. Unless these rises can be reversed, I doubt there'll be any live football this season for any of us.

Agreed, although I know people who sit near me for over 50 years; the fact that we now live miles apart means our “social bubble” is nonsense. Personally I think the club have done a disservice to individual ST holders and I will be seeking a refund on my ST which I paid for in early March, more fool me.

Exactly. All good apart from this. Totally wrong to be penalised because you go on your own.
Unless your directly related and live in the same house it should just be individuals balloted, I don't get it.was quite happy with what they've decided in a difficult situation till I read that bit properly, now may as well cancel rather than lay out 46 pound a month for maybe 2-3 games. Shot themselves in the foot there I think.

It's being so happy that keeps me going.

I think you need to read the details carefully. It looks to me that if we don't have a fully open stadium at any point this season (looks quite likely) and if you don't claim a refund and don't enter any of the ballots to attend then you'll get a full refund of the ticket at the end of the season and will have got all the home streams and midweek away streams for free. That looks pretty generous.

I'm not sure you will be punished for going on your own. Seems to me that they will do a ballot for one game and if you don't win then you are in the priority list for the next game

Rog, that is how I read it and that is why I am torn, now that the details have been released.

I get what they are trying to do, and I said a few days ago that whatever they did it would not please one group or another.

I want to do my bit to support the club and when the refund offer came out afterthe behind closed doors decision came out, I would have let it go anyway, regardless of whether we got free access to the QPR+ streams - because I recognised the difference between the club needing to find revenue and not rely on constant shareholder bailouts that is just loans anyway.

However, unless something transpires in the coming days where they even out the season ticket price for one season, regardless of where your original seat is, then I think I am going to have to consider passing on my ticket this season and risk losing my seat for one season and potentially lose out if crowds are eventually allowed back in meaningful numbers this autumn or during the season.

I understand why they are doing it but this season means me either paying out £535 by a DD of £65+ a month from 1st Oct for the next 8 months, at a time when I have been on 80% pay since 1st July and will be kept on that reduced salary until Jan or maybe March next year, that is if my company survives through Q3 and Q4. By doing so I get in to a ballot as a Billy No Mates ticket holder who goes by himself and would not pretend to be in a bubble and then there is every chance that I will not have my usual SAR seat in the very back row which is in line with the stairwell and allows me to not hobble out of LR for the last couple of seasons as I am am not crippled by lack of legroom.

So I pay £535 and could end up in either a tiny leg room seat or one which is worse with a "restricted view non legroom" seat, whilst someone else who pays less than me could end up in my seat as part of a bubble group. If I was 5'8 and 10st then I would not be thinking about it, but at 6'3 and having had two knee ops, not knowing where I would be "sat" from one game to the next is a showstopper

I'm not saying they have done anything wrong, it is a difficult situation to sort out, just want to put my thoughts down now after a bottle of Merlot after a hard day and then sleep on it and decide before the Thursday deadline what to do and whether to contact the Box office and cancel my auto renewal DD.

I do get it that if I just paid £65 a month and bite the bullet, then I probably would end up getting QPR+ free for a season, not go to any games for the entire season and then carry over £535 towards the following season's ticket and it is then paid for in advance. That is not such a bad deal.

Just need to think on whether I need my money than QPR at the moment if I can't go regularly in my own seat.

Poll: With no leg room, knees killing me, do I just go now or stay for the 2nd half o?

Yeah, that was my interpretation too, Dave. Surprised people think that’s how it will work. I also think there’ll be far fewer big bubbles or joint bubbles than people think. The two mates I went with, one isn’t renewing and one has had his automatically renewed but he’s just had a child so won’t be attending much!

And even if you don’t go, you get it back in credit for the following season’s ST, which is as good as cash, assuming you would have bought one that year anyway.

Why say this then if everyone has the same chance?

As part of the process of maximising the number of fans we can accommodate within the stadium, supporters within social bubbles will have a greater chance of success through the ballot process. However, you are reminded of the importance of adhering to all government guidelines regarding who is permitted within your social bubble.

However in reality its all academic, I can't see the stadium being opened this season, genie out of the bottle for the next wave, and lockdown opportunity wasted

Must admit, my son and me at 6 foot 3, and some, are concerned about the leg room aspect if moved around. That said, guess the rules won’t allow anyone to sit either side so could just about get through it.

Incidentally, you mention knee ops and hobbling about, know where you’re coming from. Wonder how many of us six footers have been crippled supporting Rangers?!

There's been much talk up here recently of Leicester City's plans for allocating tickets in the reduced capacity era. They released their full plans a couple of weeks ago which you can read here if anyone is interested - https://www.lcfc.com/news/1758561/updated---202021-season-season-tickets-members

It all sounds an absolute nightmare and they've got a stadium nearly double the size of ours, and much better access in/out through all turnstiles and gates!

Here's the bit that relates to Season Ticket holders...I wonder if QPR will be doing similar...?

SEASON TICKET HOLDER BALLOT

For Premier League matches played at King Power Stadium with reduced capacity, Season Ticket Holders will be allocated 90 per cent of the General Admission tickets available. The other 10 per cent will be made available to Members.

Season Ticket Holders who have paid their initial payment will be invited to enter the Season Ticket Holder ballot for each game for which capacity is reduced. Successful applicants for the ballot in respect of any game will be invited to select and purchase a matchday ticket for the applicable fixture from a seating plan highlighting available seats throughout the stadium. Successful applicants will be unable to enter future ballots for subsequent fixtures until the beginning of the ballot 'cycle' for the next group of matches.

The frequency with which a Season Ticket Holder will qualify to enter a ballot will depend on a number of factors still to be confirmed, including:

The number of 2020/21 Season Ticket Holders participating in the ballot process
The number of our Premier League home games operating under reduced capacity
The permitted capacity for each of those Premier League home games
The Club will provide further clarity on the ballot process as soon as more information is available. Fair and equitable access to tickets for all 2020/21 Season Ticket Holders and Members participating in the ballot will remain our priority.

Season Ticket Holders may choose those individual matches for which they wish to enter the ballot, but will be best placed to see the greatest possible number of matches if they enter all ballots for which they qualify. Season Ticket Holders that are more selective about the matches for which they apply run a higher risk of seeing fewer games while the stadium is operating at reduced capacity.

In order to ensure that as many supporters as possible can be admitted for each game under reduced capacity, Season Ticket Holders will NOT be guaranteed access to their normal seat during this time.

Group ballot applications will be accepted (up to a maximum of six), provided that the initial payment has been paid in respect of each such ticket. The ballot system will be programmed to select the optimal combination of group and individual entries to ensure stadium configuration maximises the number of tickets available. If a group ballot entry is successful, all Season Ticket Holders in that group will be deemed to have been successful and, the applicant will only be able to select a group of seats equal to the number in their application. Applicants will be asked to confirm at the point of purchase that their group complies with government guidelines relative to social distancing.

Season Ticket Holders in groups of more than six should contact ticketsinfo@lcfc.co.uk or call 0344 815 5000 (Option 1).

Each Season Ticket Holder ballot will take place approximately three weeks before the match to which it applies. Specific dates for Season Ticket Holder ballots will be released in due course. Successful applicants will be notified that they have secured the right to purchase tickets for the relevant match, in advance of sales commencing.

More information on ballots can be found in our Frequently Asked Questions document at www.lcfc.com/reducedcapacityfaqs. Confirmed ballot dates will be released in due course.

*All fixtures are subject to change and ballot dates will reflect any such changes.

This was enough for me to renew...which I just have.
Be warned that trying to use Edge to make the purchase didn't work - I had to switch to Chrome.
I do fear however that with the news about groups of six 'for fun' we might not get back into Loftus Rd for many months.

As someone who is 6ft 4 I'm not actually too worried about the legroom aspect. I've always found I manage when there is a spare seat next to me, as I can just swing my legs over. As you say, we'll definitely have space either side of our bubble, so won't be too bad. Also, there'll likely be space in front of us as well, so can just pop our legs over onto the sits on the next row.

Season Ticket renewals. on 11:25 - Sep 9 with 1341 viewsjoe90

I'm in two minds, might continue with my season ticket and just take it as it comes or...cancel and spend £230 watching all home games on QPR+ saving myself £170. I don't find the ballot enticing, and the thought of watching a game in a half empty Loftus Road doesn't seem appealing either.

The second option seems even more appealing now that I know I can still have my old seat the following season...
