I’ve seen City 20+ times this season as I take my son to watch them. For a team that finished 14th and rarely looked like finishing in the top half, there’s quite a buzz about the club.
It’s really nice to see a load of home grown players in the team, even though some of them have taken until their mid-20’s to really establish themselves in the side and show their true ability. Cam Pring is so consistent that he reminds me a bit of Steve Finnan when he was at Fulham - never less than a 7/10. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him in the PL soon - defensively solid, good at carrying the ball, very positive, and has an excellent cross.
This has been the 1st year of senior football for Bell and Conway, both 20 and both of whom have done really well. Vyner is 25 now and has developed into a really decent Championship CB. O’Leary in goal has improved as the season has gone on, but suspect they might need someone less prone to errors.
Alex Scott will presumably be off in the summer, but with £20m or whatever they get for him, the expectation is that Pearson will spend that money wisely.
Lower league signings, Rob Atkinson, Mark Sykes, and George Tanner have all had commendable seasons too. Matty James was a freebie, and keeps things ticking over nicely in midfield, doing a solid, unshowy job.
Of the 3 players left on big money, Wells signed a new contract on much-reduced wages, and Da Silva and Kalas have been offered extensions, presumably also on significantly reduced terms.
13,500 season tickets sold already, and they’ve only gone on general sale this week. The view seems to be that City might be in with a shout of the the play-offs if they have a good summer. I don’t think they’re far off if the youngsters push on. |  |

Thanks Clive - Spot on again with the report we were all disappointed in the pub at 2.00pm to see the team selection and formation.
Maybe when you look at the squad and quality of the B Team it's all he had to work with. Previous managers have all said the same.
The squad is awful and unbalanced and yes it might get worse before it gets better but I hope we give Gareth the time to build something as he did at Wycombe and as Mark Robins has done at Coventry. To be honest I'm not sure who else would come here and try and build something with our budget. I do feel some QPR fans expectations are the moon on a stick and they want it now.
Anyhow whatever happens the roller coaster ride of supporting the worlds craziest football club will be sure to continue for a few more chapters yet.

Both him and Dickie do that a lot, charge in towards the ball to try and solve a problem, leaving all sorts of issues in the space behind them. The Blackburn and Preston home goals were a lot like that. | | | |

This season your reports have been the only good thing about supporting QPR. At the age of 53 I picked the wrong time to get my first ever season ticket, in the Upper Loft of all f***ing places. I also missed the Watford game, so haven't seen us win since 22nd October, and my only away day was the trip to Coventry that put me off away trips for life.

As an upper loft season ticket holder, I sat there on Monday just going through the motions knowing once that first Bristol goal went in it was going to be all huff and puff and no end product. My god this bunch of players are useless, still can't believe people were clapping them off. As Clive states we have had 4 home goals at the loft end, I dare to think how many away team goals we have had to endure. Thought the funniest thing was announcement before end not to go on the pitch as pitch invaders would get a ban, we all laughed and said maybe this is the way to put us 17,000 souls out of our misery. Thanks Clive. I think your reports have been the highlight of the season. Lots of people have lots of reasons as to what has gone wrong and they seemingly always point at the players and or manager. That , to me, is not the problem at QPR. It is about the way the club is run. Ruben clearly doesn't really know much and hands responsibility onto mainly Ferdinand who has totally failed on the project he set up. There are no good new players coming thru [ bar Armstrong], there are very few good first team players and Ferdinand has specialised in signing players who are and will remain League 1 and League 2 quality. He has his cronies around him all of whom have failed too. People are too quick to blame the nurses or the doctors or the postman. It is not the workers/players who are at fault, it is the management. the sickness in the club is because the hierarchy are at best useless. How they keep there jobs is unbelievable and a reflection of just how far detached Ruben is. People may be nice but that is not the point. Ruben is paying out £1.8m per month which is very nice but he needs to get a grip on the management of the club as with Ferdinand and his cronies running things the only way is down. | | | |
