Spurred on by the streaming kit thread - I know we have audiophiles among us.
Why not tell us what equipment you have at the moment ?

I'm not an audiophile but I like a decent sound at a decent cost. Quite happy with my KrK Rokit 8 monitors . Technics 1210s, Pioneer 2 channel mixer DJM250.
I am thinking about a new mixer and maybe even a controller to play and mix digital stuff properly. . Not really a fan of streaming although that's the way it's gone now. There's loads of benefits to it and some good stuff being released on those streaming platforms.

Occasional providers of half decent House music.

The vast majority of the time I am listening to music via my computer these days.

Attached to my PC is a Marantz ND 8006 DAC, streamer, CD Player, my old Audiolab pre amp and a pair of Klipsch Active Speakers. A very decent sound streaming from Amazon HD and YouTube with an Ad Blocker. The CD Player sounds better of course.

Both the DAC/CD and speakers were half price. Might upgrade the speakers one day to some KEF's perhaps but space is at a premium, the Klipsch speakers are only 13cm wide but on a stand to ear height.

Most of my music is listened to in my WFH room on a stereo pair of Sonos One streaming speakers which are paired up with Apple Music and Amazon Music.

The living room has a Tannoy Soundbase One speaker which is bluetooth enabled so can listen to music there off a number of devices. It’s also connected to the TV via an optical cable for better sound when watching tv or on the playstation.

Due to having kids the more decent kit is in the shed! Pioneer SACD/CD/DVD player, Kenwood amplifier plus a pair of bookshelf speakers.

I also have a Kenwood 5.1 DTS AV amp that one day I’ll set up again in the living room with accompanying 5.1 speakers.

Edit:also have a Fiio X1 (great sound, awful menu navigation) high resolution DAP for when out and about.

I’ve got a quad amp and B&W speakers. I recently bought a 50 quid John Lewis DAB radio and plugged it into the amp/speakers via a ecler mixer

I can’t believe how good the radio and Spotify sounds though this. I suppose it’s the preamps in the mixer and that the amp has a separate pre amp too. So it’s going through 2 preamps and out a wire from the John Lewis radio

But Spotify which isn’t great quality has been transformed and it cost very little as I already had the mixer, amp, speakers. Got a 10 pound mini jack to rca wire

Now I can stream wirelessly from phone/laptop and it sounds great. Spotify sounded shite when I plugged the TV directly into the amp. There could be a little pre amp on the headphone out on the JL radio too

Have you ever thought of serato or tracktor? Really not the same having a mix/cut on those poxy little plastic wheels on a controller and cdjs cost a fortune! Much much easier and quicker to mix on a controller/digital. But sounds shite when you mix vinyl with digital. I’ve got traktor but wish I’d bought serato, not much between them to be fair but at least you aren’t trying to mix digital files into vinyl or visa versa. Some of the WAV files I have sound better that the vinyls… mad!

Not so much the equipment as the acoustics. The main listening area is the kitchen which is a converted barn/cowshed,3 feet thick walls made out of Lodestone(magnetite)and a beamed ceiling 20ft high.(Plus our good friend Mr.Drakeford has seen it fit to provide us with free insulation).
The aoustics are superb and all that is needed is a basic system.Yamaha amp, small Wharfedale Gold speakers on brackets on the sloping ceiling.DVD/CD/TV source - no wifi etc. available since no signals will pass through Lodestone.(nor will radiation from a nuclear attack I'm told )
Will upgrade eventually when I've had the cojones to tackle the painting, fallen off the ladder once already.

B&W 607’s
Project Debut Carbon turntable
Teac ref500 amp
Teac ref500 cd
Audio lab 6000N streamer

Looking to upgrade the amp and cd to a Naim 5si and Marantz 6007 respectively but will do some listening tests at Sevenoaks Sounds first.
Would be interested if anyone has the Naim amp paired with B&W’s

I have Cyrus as well - a Cyrus 7 with Cyrus X power supply. Must be nigh on 30 years old and still going strong.
I'd recommend Cyrus whole heartedly.

main house system is sonos wired everywhere with B&W ceileing speakers powered by Rotel power amps; this is a bastardisation of an old central all in one system that blew up.

listening room has Linn Sondek LP12 with Linn speakers and a Pro-Ject Amp & CD player. rarely use this but keep buying the vinyl, particularly of small acts to support them rather than let Spotify shite all over them.
