I agree with the bit about the fans fighting for their favourite players and blaming the ones they don’t like etc etc . It’s going to happen when the squad is as weak as ours .
Unfortunately the ones that have been here a while will take the brunt because of how long we’ve been utter shit.

I say unfortunately….not really . Most deserve it .
I wonder if the downward spiral continues again if the fans will be general apathetic with the players as they were in Ainsworth’s darkest days ?

Great write-up. I've tried to stay engaged with this lot, but the Millwall game was the last straw for me. When you start laughing at your own team, as I did at Millwall, then you know its time to stop defending them.
The lot of them need to be put out of their misery, along with us.

Thanks Clive - Can't argue with anything in that preview. All that hope right up to the 86th minute at Hillsborough now vanished.

We should not be surprised the majority of this team are woefully short of everything to be playing at this level and the reason no other clubs want any of them. They have been poor under 4 different managers.

I have resigned myself to relegation now as it helps my mental health in doing so.

I must say though the fans have been magnificent over the last 2 years we always turn up in numbers and back the team. Best of luck and safe travels to everyone heading for sleepy Suffolk this evening - We desrve so much better.

Great preview . That stat about falling behind in games is startling. Often think when we fall behind at Loftus road that we might as well piss off home.
We had a brilliant set of figures under the same scenario with Warburton.
Having said that we had far better players back then which is not the case with our mentality mice we now have.

Completely agree with you on the state of our team.

Far too many people on the internet who seem to believe Football Manager is real life and just one different tactic will see this team flying up the table.

Real Life is not Championship Manager 01-02, you can't just whack your team to iodine CF and WIB-WOB your way to glory.

I honestly believe this squad thinks it's still October 2022, when we were briefly top of the division. They think they are the best and that if results are poor, it's someone else's fault because they are the Championship's finest footballers.

The truth is we also had good, clinical and spirited performances overall against Hull, Stoke and Preston, and should have beaten Plymouth. As I've pointed out, we're rarely as good or as bad as fans say, even if Millwall was indisputably poor. The manager is less excitable/volatile, however, and, especially if we're agreeing he's the best thing about the club right now, people need to listen to him more and Loft for Worders less. If he's saying we have good players who are improving, are those same posters also going to call him a liar and/or delusional? Most fans want to have their cake and eat it (OK, myself included) and are mired in contradictions, which would be OK, if they had the humility to admit it.

I might be a jinx, but I suspect there'll be a (positive) response tonight, and we might well get a result. If there is and we do, it won't be because we're basically shit and flattering to deceive, however - it'll be because we 're capable of doing well, but very inconsistent and prone to implosions. We're up; we're down; but we're somewhere in the middle.

In a way a bit of a crunch game tonight to see if we actually are able to step up to the challenge and get a result. I actually felt we played well against Plymouth but against Millwall went backwards literally far too much negativity in that game. Who knows what Rangers will turn up tonight will it be the charitable one or the majestic one that reflects our name.
