Excellent as always Clive. I must have watched Jimmy's goal back about 30 times already since Saturday.

What was the fck up with the school end ticket allocation?

Agree, be surprised if he played Centre Half on his way up the ranks as would get found out quickly in any set up if you frequently head the ball off the top of your bonce,

Listened to a podcast recently with Roddy Collins, ex League of Ireland Football Manager and brother of World Champion Boxer Steve Collins, was asked how he motivated players at Half Time etc and obviously said its different for different players etc and he gave an anecdote from an epic boxing bout between Mickey Ward and Arturo Gatti ,

Mickey Ward had been knocked senseless in the 1st Round and went back to his corner and they talked tactics and how to buy time and he listened and just said 5 words in response....'I ain't effing having it'' and just went back out and went all-out, to fight what became a fight of the year,

I've always seen this attitude and spirit in Dunne, where others will play it safe and just do there bit, he'll step up and lead, sometimes to his own personal detriment like Millwall away where so many players hid, but regardless of Ozzie to his right or invisible Andre in front of him, he stepped up and did his best that day as he did yesterday, by charging forward after 92 minutes and thinking someone's got to done something here.

I was watching on the official stream and they nearly missed Dunne's goal as they were showing a replay. Then the picture changed to Sanderson heading the ball and Jimmy doing the rest.

Both myself and my son jumped up from the sofa as the ball went in and cheered - it just felt like it could be a season defining moment. I've lost count of how many times I watched the replays and different angles - amazing moment.

I cba to make an individual thread so here will do - what was up with Chair?

His reaction to Dunne's goal is super strange. Hands on his head, as it goes in he still seems kinda mad he didn't pass it to him. Takes ages to join the team celebrations.

At full time he was on the floor for ages, then was greeting all his team mates like he was on the verge of tears till Marti came over and geniunely slapped him (playfully!) across the head.

Never know what's going on with people, but it struck me as very very odd

My Reaction was similar to be fair, I just don't think he could believe it

Brilliant write up Clive and as Northolt Rs mentioned couldn’t help get a lump in my throat by that last paragraph.
Tremendous stuff.

The idea of the players coming out was fully Marti’s I’m told, which is just another sign of class by the manager. What was inspiring and great to hear though was the huge ‘Come on U R’s’ that echoed around LR as we restarted the game following the Birmingham goal. So great to hear and see all the fans stand behind the team in such a critical moment . Couldn’t have gone unnoticed by MC either.

There's something about Marti that tells me he just gets us and this club. When he does eventually move on to bigger things, I'll follow his career wishing him every success

Great write up as always.

That goal will stay with me as long as I breathe. I was in Barbados and only caught the second half on my phone screen but that utter thunder b'stard from St. Jimmy sent me sprinting round the pool by myself with a loaf of strangers wondering what on earth had gotten into me. What a moment, I just wish with all my soul I'd been in the stadium to feel it

Bacuna was crocked I think, hobbled off very slowly.

Add the ref to the list. Apart from the horizontal drop-ball, the highlights showed a very bad foul by Laird on Chair got the first goal free kick. Second yellow, surely?

Well I thought Laird should/could have been sent off.

We were stood In NL lower loft pondering a 1-1 draw when Armstrong done a number on Sanderson and in the space of less than a nano second Dunne had scored.
Time stood still, some quite disgusting Man hugs took place and I think from that moment I shouted "blow the whistle you expletive" about seventeen times.
Of no particular interest but for those that remember the play off semi against Oldham I was in virtually the same spot then as I was yesterday, In the dying seconds of the Olham game with us leading 1-0 the Oldham player took a shot and the ball was heading towards the corner of our net thus making It 1-1.
A woman near us In the crowd screamed and once again time stood still for a nano second and somehow gawd knows how our goalkeeper saved It, I think It was Chris Day.

I'm old, I'm worn out and I can't take much more, well maybe a little bit more.

It's times like these.

Great write up as always.
We all have memories we take away from games over the years... Rodney following in the OG at Villa Park to get us promotion.... Micky Leach header at Ipswich the same year.... Don Givens scoring that goal against United as we ripped them a new one. .. the in off the shins for Clive Allen at Highbury... Mackie getting the 2nd at Man City when down to 10 men....Bobby's moment at Wembley......and many many more
But od Dunnes goal I can still hear my brother next to me shout.... "no don't..... yesssssssss:.... priceless moments that only fans who support clubs like ours truly experience.... a 78 and a 68 year old pair of brothers that have nearly 130 years support going mental .......

Moments like Jimmy Dunne's screamer make up for all the misery we endure tenfold. Absolute pandemonium in the stadium.

In golf terms Sanderson is all the gear and no idea. All the physical attributes to be a Premier League centre back, so thick it’s a miracle he can work his front door to leave the house each day.

When the going gets tough, it's all about his hair isn't it?

If you compare how Cook and JCS get stuck into a tackle or a block there's just no comparison.

I had a look on the Brum boards after the game and they've seen through him like we did.

It was definitely Chris Day, Ted.

One of the best saves I can recall seeing. Certainly by a Rangers 'keeper!

Talking of "I was there" moments, I feel extremely privileged to be a member of that happy band who have seen in the flesh both Tricky's bicycle kick, Zamoooooorrrrrrrraaaaahhhhh's goal and now this, the Jimmy Dunne Easter miracle.

You capture the moment perfectly, Clive. When Zamora's goal went in at Wembley, I swear I levitated. On Friday, I almost sank to my knees with joy and relief. Incredible moments that do seem to make up for all the absolute shit we've had to endure over the years.

And one other thing: your report has reminded me of that utterly bizarre moment when the ref took the ball from their half in which we were attacking and moved it all the way back practically to our penalty box. Will we ever know WTF that was all about? When the Peaky Blinders went on to score just after that, I almost - almost - capitulated, almost walked out, almost couldn't take the inevitable. But as always, you stay on, don't you, because, well, because something extraordinary just might happen.

What a perfect weekend for a resurrection. Bring on the Swans!

Add Warren Neill's screamer against Partizan Belgrade at Highbury, Danny Dicchio's bicycle kick at Wolves and Zamora's outside of the left foot goal at WBA into those "I was there" moments. For the older members, crying my eyes out at full time in the League Cup final 1967 and, again crying my eyes out at full time, when the final whistle blew at Villa Park to confirm our 1st ever visit to the 1st Division.

The grass is always greener.
