Apparently it’s not Hugil as he doesn’t have a tattoo, why can’t they just tell us?

This is excellent news. This bloke looks a unit and proper bruiser. Best mates with Poulter indicates the right character too. Union have done well the last two years so suggests he’s been playing well.

This sounds like a very shrewd signing. It adds credence to the rumour about Robert Huth coming in on a free too.

What’s not to like about a free transfer? 👍👍

Looks and sounds perfect.

For people who think we have no nous in the transfer market, look what happened to Norwich with this guy! Not able to agree a fee to sign him and then watching us nab him for free.

On the surface, he seems exactly the sort of player we should be signing. No fee, right age, plenty of experience.

We may be getting Hugill on loan, from West Ham, but wages might be a problem.

Welcome Tony & Joe.

IF we are going to sign loan players, Hugill would look a good target to me. Sucessful at this level & has a lot to prove.

It's July 1st, so I'm not surprised we have made announcements. We were not going to sign anyone until this date as we would want to avoid paying them wages while they were still under contract elsewehere.

Very pleased with this although I can’t say I know much about him.
Lived in Berlin for 4 years and manage to catch a couple of Union games a year still, he’s always looked solid although I’m mainly focusing on beer and polti.
Better than the likes of Alex Pearce and others floated. Seems they really were just tabloid stories based on the fact mclaren was at derby! Hopefully this means hughill over chris Martin too!

Exactly - There's plenty happening in the background at the club, fortunately they are managing to keep the transfer business "under wraps" until there is something substantial to report. It was good to read on the Offish that McLaren had been out to meet him and that was part of what influenced him to sign for the Rs, scotches some of the rumours that he's going after his old players.

Was surprised to see this announced on a Sunday but as somebody said the 1st July is the start of new contracts, well done Les and Lee who would have arranged the contract. Have no idea whether the bloke is any good but he has the right pedigree for our current requirements, signing a few unknown Germans didn't do David Wagner any harm......

Leistner - should be a good communicator then!

I love reading words like ‘solid’ and ‘plays hard’ when discussing my CBs. Per chance he’s an ugly big brute of a thing whose cooking instructions to chef about how he likes his steak are: wash its arse, throw it through the kitchen and I’ll do the rest.

Welkom Tony.

Edit: just seen his picture. He fits my ‘ugly brute at the back’ requirement perfectly. I also think I love him too!!

I like the sound of this.
This could turn out to be an astute move by us.
A back four of Furlong, Hall, Leistner, and Bidwell would do well.

Well done Rs

The fact I've never heard if him and this hadn't been rumoured anywhere is pleasing
