Ingram has now let in 14 goals in 4 games.
Jordan Cousins is not a football player.
Conor Washington is not a striker and perhaps not a footballer.

All three playing tonight. Washington as the preferred striker. Cousins for Luongo. Ingram instead of Lumley after conceding 11 goals in 3 games.

Exceptional management and team picking skills here.

Never knowingly right.

I think we may actually have seen the end of Ingram's QPR career already.

'What do we want? We don't know! When do we want it? Now!'

That was my thought Ingram killed his own and his managers career tonight, we were quite decent for 40 minutes and should have been one or two up.

Luongo deserved to be hooked, but the player who should be coming on is in bloody Rotherham

Ryan Manning was Rotherham's man of the match tonight.
The preference for Cousins over Manning is baffling - people have been sectioned for less!

the whole team need to take collective responsibility, but washington cost us £4m and doesn't score, we take chances we are alive. no goalie would fancy that lot in front of him right now....
someone has to stop the enemy play and break it/em up.
get a win, anyhow and the dressing room lifts, but we need it soon.

You DID pick him in your preferred team last night though Dorse - what were you thinking!

Feel really sorry for Ingram. As has been said elsewhere, he has had few opportunities here and is being asked to play in a system which clearly doesn't suit him, playing out from the back to players who aren't good enough to do so and he sits behind a distinctly average back four.

I'm not denying he has made mistakes, the first goal last night being one - but he hasn't made any absolute howlers and he made one stunning save against Sheff Utd that kept us in the game at that point.

His confidence will be rock bottom and I don't think he has been given a fair chance.

You don't think being picked after conceding 7 is a 'fair chance'?

That is a fair challenge, but having said that how many of the goals on Saturday is he culpable for. Even the penalty he conceded was as a consequence of BFG not sticking the ball in row Z.

Don't get me wrong I'm not starting up his fan club, but we signed him as a keeper with great promise and he has never really had a chance until playing in this team with this system.

Seems harsh to me, but what do I know....

Problem is we put Lumley in and we kill his confidence , our defence is woeful and slow so woeful that I could outsprint them

And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles Brian Moore

You forgot

Leave your actual young player of the year..out of team
Whilst you are at it...why not also send out on loan, another promising ....proven youngster at this level...on loan to a team in your league.

I know you 'picked' Ingram last night, but would you not play Lumley Saturday?

As I've said before, if he doesn't play, he may as well give up at this club I think!

The funny thing is, if Lumley had played these 3 games then we'd be calling for Ingram's experience. If Cousins wasn't involved, people would be asking why he isn't getting a go instead of Luongo. IF Washington had not made a squad, people would be calling for him as Sylla and Smith are not up to it. Football is a funny old game. But I can't see any of us laughing.

Granted he's not playing in front of a stellar back four but he doesn't seem to help them at all by his general nervousness/lack of presence. Going by what others have said about Lumley, the one thing he seems to do is talk to/shout at his defence telling them what's going on

FWIW I personally just don't think he's up to it. He's playing a level above his ability.

I thought the first was an absolute howler, straight through him, I thought his efforts were for the other two were pretty poor as was his positioning in general, command of his area and his back 4.

Guy near me commented that he played like a striker who had to go in goal because the real keeper had been sent off.

We've gone from having a keeper that earns you 6-9pts a season to one that looks like he will cost you 6-9pts and the net effect of that is certain relegation. So I'm sorry but we have to be ruthless and he needs to be swapped out probably loaned out and we need a loan keeper in, to fight it out with Lumley for the number 1 spot

“we’ve gone from having a keeper that earns you 6-9 points a season to one that looks like he will cost you 6-9 points “.
And therein lies the crux of the matter. Unless Alex Smithies was actually demanding to leave or there was a release clause in his contract( Clive seems pretty sure there wasn’t), how the hell did it make sense to flog him for what amounted to about three bags of pork scratchings in terms of what it could buy that’s any use in this division. If 3mill was the only offer we could get for him we’d have been better off telling Cardiff to go and do one and instead “banked” the points he would have saved us that might possibly have made the difference between staying up and going down with the loss of a lot more than 3 million quid.

Any player getting a stab at Premier League and better wages is going to be off and you can't blame them.

We didn't play it out from the back against Bristol city and he made a howler for the first goal. He simply isn't up to it so far this season. I said it 12 months ago, even when Smithies was about, that Lumley is the best keeper at the club.

I stand by that.

Tbf to Eze it was such an overhit pass he couldn’t do much but stop and try to control it.

Could not disagree more! Wszolek got to the byline twice in the first and did all the basics well. Not outstanding but played the position well. Barely lost the ball too.

Cousins was a ghost with the game going on around him until he went RWB, when he put in several dreadful crosses from deep. Nothing player.

If Conor had put it in front of him it would have been a tap in but instead he fired into his feet whilst he was on the move and ended up checking his run to try and get the ball out from under his feet. Eze is entirely blameless in that particular fiasco.

The grass is always greener.
