Just been watching the same game, Brian. Pleased to see La Liga coverage back on normal tv, ITV4 in this case as opposed to Premier Sports.
Messi’s 3rd was a real beauty. What more can we say about him but he’s probably given me more joy watching football than any other player. Good to see even the Betis fans applauding him.
Hopefully the Suárez injury isn’t serious as they’ll need him to have a chance of winning the Champions League.
I was watching the same game but on premier sports. What a player that boy is.Three times I’ve seen him live in the Nou Camp and he seems to get better with age.

With unbelievable luck I was at Barcelona v Albacete for Messi's first goal.
We were heading over to a stag and on the plane a few lads asked me if Barca had any good young lads. I told them they had a lad, Messi, who looked the goods. Serious player, says I. Well, by the end of the weekend, I was elevated to God-like status like C-3PO was y the Ewoks.
It's not just the cool, chipped finish for his first ever senior goal, it's that he'd done it before only to have the goal disallowed for offside. Then...to hold his nerve and chip for the second time...
I remember vividly, thinking "he won't chip again, he won't… fugg, he has".
We all knew. Right then. He was amazing. And we were haunted lucky.
"The opposite of love, after all, is not hate, but indifference."
I had the pleasure of watching him play earlier this season at a Barcelona home game. He scored two and hit the bar twice from free kicks. It was just a normal Messi performance for the Camp Nou regulars but I can’t recall many (if any) better performances in the flesh.
was lucky enough to be in Barca when they had the first leg of the semi against Real last month. Couldn't believe the El Classico was on and I was going to be there. Booked up tickets but unfortunately Messi only made the final 30 minutes after a knock at the weekend.
in that 30 minutes you were just glued to him and he would go from a disinterested stroll to scintillating mazy dribble in the blink of an eye. Real were terrified of him; shame it was 1-1 but still a great experience

We left a day or 2 before that 1st leg game after watching them against Valencia on the Saturday. My greatest fear is that the scum will break the bank and sign him for the last year or two of his career. What a legacy he will leave behind if he stays fit and well at Barca.
My only foray into the world of television football involves me having a TV licence which automatically renews itself annually, should I wish this TV licence permits me to watch MOTD and some other football show on some obscure channel.
The last time I watched MOTD was probably 3 maybe 4 Years ago, all I can remember at the time was Alan Shearer talking to Gary Lineker about some 0-0 draw between two Midland's clubs earlier in the day, Lineker looked suicidal and started eating some crisps. I thought at the time It was time to switch MOTD off which I did and happily I haven't been back since.
I'm so far removed from the world of televised footy now, does anyone know if that pundit (pundit LOL) the one from Sky has spat on anymore kids since the last time?
My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.
Televised football is used like a radio in our house - it's on but I rarely sit through a whole match, except when Rangers are on and I pull my chair up about two feet from the screen.
Looking through the livescore app to see if there is any football tonight, will Barnet v harrogate be on telly? I vaguely recall one year Setanta Sports used to show the conference games, I remember watching an absolute blockbuster between Stafford Rangers and Halifax,.
I watched some of the African Champions League game between Wydad Casablanca and Mamelodi Sundowns in a bar in Casablanca on Saturday. Shocking game, poor standard and I couldn't even get a beer.

"he would go from a disinterested stroll to scintillating mazy dribble in the blink of an eye. Real were terrified of him; shame it was 1-1 but still a great experience" That shows he is just a lazy player, ask any Eze fan.

exactly!
sat in the upper loft last week and as Eze tried to go on a run he was upended and won a free kick; some dickhead behind me shouted out "get up you lazy prick!"

It's as more about the players than Harry really. Paul Merson still very much battling his gambling addiction, quite bad really.
Just shows the health issues 80/90s footballers faced when they carried on living they way there were minus the training and every day exercise. The weight creeps on and before you know it, you're a stroke or heart attack candidate.

The bit with Merson was shocking, even more so when you see he's one the faces of Skybet, i know he probably needs the money but he shouldn't be doing that can't be helping him.
Cracking programme though, that pass from Le Tissier for the 2nd goal was a thing of beauty
