I was there that fateful day and having just watched the own goal again, I'm still wondering the same thing. What exactly was Pollock trying to do there?

Remember the tannoy announcer explaining we would be held behind for our own safety - not till other supporters dispersed - but explicitly for our own safety.

Then as we left seeing a load of police with gigantic guns patrolling the area outside.

I'd forgotten how bad the first touch was. It adds to the hilarity, as does the huge wait while it falls from the sky, falling, falling, falling...bang!

Absolute genius.

I can see what he was thinking, get the ball to the goalie, but the ball took so long to come down he had all the time in the world to see the goalie had come of his line.

Genius. All hail the Lord!

What about the one at home to Southampton early 90's where the Geezers sliced the ball into his own net whilst standing and facing the opposite way?

Anyone got footage fo that one?

We were saved by the rain that day. It scattered everybody quicker than a mounted police charge.

The Pearce goal was into the Loft. A thing of rare beauty.

Bonus points: Who was in goal for Cov that day?

That first touch is a bit like Gazza versus Scotland in '96.

Re the spectacular Pearce own-goal of February 20th 1992 in front of 12,453.
I too was there: quite extraordinary!
Alas no YouTube video footage of this classic unique masterpiece that I've been able to trace. Yet someone will have a VHS 92/93 season review with it contained within, shirley? Then it's just a question of if that same someone has the nous, patience and 'puter tekkers to upload it to YouTube.

Was the Man City game the one where we were in that temporary stand that blew with the wind ? Think it was in the corner, not behind the goal.

It's being so happy that keeps me going.

If you say to me Coventry and goalkeeper I think Ogrizovic. Far too young to know if he played that day but what a nose that guy has. (Had to google the spelling of his name too)

Ya, it was Oggy, I'm almost convinced. That's how you spell it too, Jim. Oggy.

(Later addendum- It took me too long to type & research the stuff below. It seems like you are almost deffo right according to BMc)
I think you're right,QPRJim.
Coming to think about it around 92/93 when Coventry were up there challenging with us & The Canaries their regular goalie surely was mashed-in broken-nosed Big Oggie -(Later addendum no.2 : Oops - possible wrong spelling of the diminutive nickname?),innit?
