It is alleged that Chowdhury, 26, who works as a self-employed Uber driver, had set off from his Luton address about two hours before his arrest and he used his satnav to try to drive to Windsor Castle. After he arrived at a pub of the same name, he drove on and eventually ended up near Buckingham Palace in central London.

Is there anyone who has held a driving licence in this country, for more than 10 years for example, that couldn't find themselves, close at least, a national place of interest?, even without a sat nav. I have never been to York in my life but I can guarantee that I would find York Minster within half an hour of arriving in York. What kind of assclown doesn't even give Google maps a peremptory glance before setting off on a mission of such importance to them just to get a rough idea. WTF is wrong with people?
The grass is always greener.

A shame sat navs and mobiles weren't around in 1979. We were playing away to Cambridge. Our mob set off in two cars. We arrived in plenty of time for the game. The other car arrived at half time. The driver had headed for Oxford on the A40 as he thought the Oxbridge cities were near to each other due to the fact they 'did that boat race thing every year'.

About 10 years ago, first game of the season at Bramall Lane. A look at my big road atlas first then I got from NW London to the ground with a piece of paper in my back pocket that basically started off at Junction 29 of the M1 and then three other bullet points to the ground.
And I was on a motorbike.
Sat navs are good as an aid but they're being relied on too heavily and I swear people religiously stick to the route even in bad traffic without thinking you can go off-route anywhere you like and it'll simple re-calculate to keep you on track from any given place.

Late 70's I used to take the admission money at the door of Windsor Castle on the Harrow Rd. I can assure you he wasn't the first customer to enter the place carrying a sword.
It says something that someone attacks two Police Officers outside Buckingham Palace with a sword and all people can talk about is his navigational skills. This is clearly due to the normalisation of Islamic terrorism in London and throughout Europe. This story barely made the news. One or two victims is now hardly newsworthy. Maybe people believe that Saddiq Khan was right when he said that you have to accept terrorism as part of living in the Capital. However it's shocking how quickly people seem to have become increasingly blasé.

If I'm going on a long journey and I don't know the way, I draw a rudimentary map and stick it to the tank of my bike. Works fine for me.
As for satnavs, worth pointing out Juzzie than any satnav app worth its salt (this is when I'm driving in a car) - like google maps - will calculate your fastest route on the fly - which I think is brilliant, not only having saved us sometimes literally hours in avoiding bad traffic jams, but also taking us down roads we'd never have known about, seeing places that are sometimes right off the beaten track.

I don't know, I think maybe laughing at the f*ckwit is a far better response to someone trying to spread terror than making it headline news tbh

One of the reason don't make the news is because of the £millions uber spend on advertising with said media outlets, tv , radio, papers etc, they're not gonna risk losing that contract.
Of the last 4 terrorist attacks in London 1 was employed by TFL, and 2 were given private hire licenses by TFL. 3 out of 4 not bad eh?
In America the FBI are currently investigating uber potentially paying bribes in overseas territories to gain access to markets. I suspect Messrs, Cameron, Osborne and heads of TFL are currently sh1tting themselves.
