Just back 22:19 - Oct 23 with 4587 views | BlackCrowe | There just wasn't a weak link in that team today. There were about four or five 5-10 minute spells where the attacking play was bliss, such quick feet and confidence. Joyous. Special mention to Eze, Pavel, Mass, Cameron....oh fck it all of them. I'm not getting over-expectant...playoff flirting etc, but this feels some kind of reward for the past couple of years of flat negative sh1te. Bring on Captain, Leader, Bellend.

Just back on 22:34 - Oct 23 with 4382 views | CliveWilsonSaid | Very impressive performance. We took them apart in a way I haven't seen in a long time. Just passed them to death basically. Quick incisive passing + excellent movement + good defending + clinical finishing = 3-0 rangers. Well done. I enjoyed that!

Just back on 22:55 - Oct 23 with 4120 views | TacticalR | According to the BBC site Wednesday had 63% possession, although it didn't feel like that as we looked good going forward. It might have been a different game if they had scored in the first half. However, as it was we never really let them get a foothold in the game.

Just back on 23:01 - Oct 23 with 4055 views | kingsburyR | Impressive performance but Bannan aside I thought they were fairly ordinary. We had a nice bite in the tackle (mas and cam), pace (pav) and creativity (free and wells) and a half polished diamond (eze). Also thought keeper and back four looked solid. We may be on the up.......
| Dont know why we bother. .... but we do! |

Just back on 23:29 - Oct 23 with 3838 views | Juzzie | My first game since the end of last season and a good one to be able to go to. Although Wednesday had the lions share of possession they didnt do too much with it. Bannan was their best player but they didnt let their heads go down and kept plugging away which is commendable considering our capitulation at West Brom. Winning games are all about taking your chances and we did with ours, goals 2 and 3 were peaches. I didnt think any player had a bad game and we looked solid and comfortable as a unit. Bring on Villa, dont get hung on thier big club status or JT, do our own thing and let them worry about us. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Just back on 23:45 - Oct 23 with 3745 views | westberksr | Well the 70 mile drive home was easier than it has been for some time! Excellent team performance all round. Conceded possession to Bannon but set up strong lines so that he rarely created anything, and then we looked dangerous on the attack. Special mention to Pav & Bidwell for 2 proper old school tackles, Bidwell's leading to the third goal. I love defending like that!

Saying in the Crown after the game that this was probably the best team performance since the promotion winning season under Warnock, where you could walk away afterwards and say that everyone played well and did their job. For Hill read Rangel, for Derry read Cameron, for Adel read Eze, there are so many comparisons all over the pitch. Thoroughly enjoyed tonight and it was just such a shame that less than 11,000 Rangers supporters witnessed it. Big credit to MacLaren, he has got a team together that we can really start to get excited about. Maybe the best result this season was the West Brom one. Onwards and upwards.

Bannan was impressive but he was so deep, and I think it was a plan, that he was ineffective. Just no quality in their attack for him to feed.

Totally agree – and actually made the same point re: Warnock's promotion side elsewhere. But, on reflection that team had more individual talent, so was kinda expected to be at least decent. This one, with the possible exception of Eze, is composed mainly of thoroughly professional footballing craftsman, who look like becoming much greater than the sum of their parts. That speaks volumes about the coaching staff.

Just back on 08:00 - Oct 24 with 3097 views | Esox_Lucius | I thought Bannan was OK tonight and not the usual threat that he normally is against us. I put it down to Luongo doing a solid marking job on him and pushing him deep into his own half for most of the game. I thought Onomah was their most dangerous player, especially in the second half. After reading the praise for Bannan above I thought I would have a quick check to see what Owls fans thought and came across their MOTM thread... they were not impressed. https://www.owlstalk.co.uk/forums/topic/277263-man-of-the-match-and-scores-qpr/

Bannan probably had more touches than the whole of our team combined but, once again, it just shows that possession without penetration is completely pointless.

I’m not sure anyone expected the Warnock team to do anything like it did. I remember just escaping relegation the season before and fans being less than impressed by the signing of Hill and Derry over the summer.

True, but besides Taarabt that team included Faurlin, Routledge, and Walker, all clearly very talented. We were also top of the table from day one and only spent two weeks below that all season. No one after the first week or so would have conceived of us going down. Whereas this season loads of people were absolutely convinced we were going to be in a dire relegation battle until a couple of weeks ago
