Official he's gone
at 23:07 16 Aug 2017

The first thing to say is that Gylfi Sigurdsson has been nothing short of sensational for us, and now that he's gone we have to be realistic on both time and price.

If people like Stuart James of the Guardian are saying that Bony is " agreed in principle already " and Chadli is " likely " then I tend to believe him. The other possibility is Clucas from Hull,. The difficulty, of course, is that all Clubs know we are at least £45m to the good, so price will be the sticking point.

If we get the first two done I'll be pleased. If we achieve the third I'll be delighted. And, btw, I DID go to Southampton last week and I realise we COULD have been beaten 2-0 or even 3-0. We have a lot of work to do, but I really think that Paul Clement and his current and eventual squad can get it done.

Whatever, I'll be there to watch, sipping from my half full glass. COYS.

Darran
at 19:03 16 Mar 2017

......I sit in G120 in the Lower West and I'd never met Darran until I introduced myself to him a couple of years ago as a possible fellow contributor to this website.

I see him at every home game and he is still a fervent, affable, Swansea City fan (in the true sense of the word).

If some people can't get on with him (or even, God forgive, ignore him) on an Internet Website they really should question why they come here.

ESPN: Llorente and the return of the
at 14:28 25 Jan 2017

....Llorente's biggest plus is he's a "proper" footballer - someone who throughout his career has always played, trained and behaved like a decent person - the complete opposite of fakes like Gomis who pouted and shrank when he heard the first (deserved) boo for his ineptitude.

We have another in Tom Carroll and the best player in our team over the past two years has been Gylfi Sigurdsson - it surely can't be a coincidence that they're all cut from the same cloth ( no fuss apart from their excellent football ability).

It shows the importance of due dilligence before getting recruits into the Club.

The Resurrections Agenda
at 13:13 30 Oct 2016

...like a lot of SCFC fans I have both read and posted on both this board and Jim White's alternative.

Over the past several years "Chrissie", T2c, "the Ressurection" , and several others have been many of his usernames, unsurprisingly.

The Agenda is always the same.....- SCFC, the Board, the Trust..........there have been many and varied targets (including individual posters ) and all, that's ALL, are misguided and he is better informed.

Whilst there are issues within our Club that we need to resolve, to engage with an out-front internet troll (s) is not one of them.

....there's far too much point scoring in this thread. My suggestion, and I suspect Phil's as well is that Gomis is taking way too much flak for our disappointing performances.

Whether Eder is good enough to replace him is moot - perhaps a run of games will decide.

Let's get one thing across at least - we ALL care and that applies within the Club as well as we supporters.

...I suppose in your eyes Wayne Rooney is the standard they should aspire to.

Don't be so naive as to suppose that jasper t's opinion (or pierre91's - see what I did there - talking about myself in the third person - a real footballer's trait) on who's a "top, top player" by mocking Almeida and Postiga. Both have played Professional and International football whilst we confine ourselves to posting on Internet message boards and pretend we know what we're talking about.

....since Eder quite regularly gets into Portugal's team (often as a first choice), it's not only unfair to criticise his "lack of ability" especially as we haven't seen enough of him (5minute cameos apart) and getting a regular run in the team.
Similarly, the over the top reaction to Gomis's run of bad form that denigrates him as "gash" is equally absurd. We have the players we have, and so Monk must work with this.

I agree that Bafe's stumbling recent efforts probably necessitate Eder being given at least 3 or 4 games as the first choice striker and since these are Norwich and Liverpool away and Bournemouth and Leicester at Home we may well have a more justified body of work on which to make some longer term decisions prior to the opening of the January window.

Incidentally, HJ and others within the club are on record as saying that we are loth to buy in ANY January window because it's rarely successful (for the majority) and prices are invariably horribly inflated. As for the fantasist suggestions that we should " go and get Austin" as if this were like buying apples in Tesco (but instead of spending £1 it's more likely £15 million) takes NO account of the difficulty in negotiating ANY top flight transfer - where you have to satisfy not only 2 clubs at least let alone the individual player, agent and many other interested parties. This shows, I'd suggest, that the ones making this sort of suggestion should stick to the PlayStation.

Ultimately, Monk, HJ and others within the Club will make the decision. I'm a fan - and I can choose to support them or criticise them (rationally and with sound arguments). I have been a fan long enough to choose to trust in them to continue to progress the Club as they've done over the last 10 years at least (with ample evidence).

A point at Norwich? - I'd take that - and look to get another 7 from the other 3 fixtures I've highlighted.

We may, or may not, achieve this, but that's what I'm hoping and cheering for.

COYS.

...it's cheaper to buy a Carnet ( it allows you to travel on the Metro and buses and RER trains for several days) and does run from the Airport into central Paris too. See the details here.

Do the familiar (and no less brilliant things) - Louvre, Eiffel Tower , top of the Arc de Triomphe etc.

Fabulous city, best in the world. Enjoy.
