Full strength side for West Ham 12:28 - Dec 9 with 2588 viewsxianwol

Julian Stephan has just posted to say that the fans are crucial to success
Well here is a chance to show he means it by taking the Cup seriously. We have had enough 3rd round toothless exits. West Ham are likely to play a weakened side. Let's go for it.

So could someone more internet savvy start a petition...and let's aim for 9000! Anyone ready to help?

Not surer West Ham will field a weakened side. Maybe one or two if they have knocks, but I think they will put out a strong side.
Us however, who knows.

Smells like a trout farm in here

Agree we need a strengthened side but starting a petition......

What next.... fans choose the team by online polling?

Exactly this. Looks like a clean week off either side of WHU game. Sheff Wed at home the week prior is the better game to ‘experiment’ or blood a few youngsters (within a competitive team), after the xmas pile-up.

Back yourself and go all out for the win here. DS players can play in any of the other 20 games remaining.

It's just words, isn't it (which I'm constantly told are worthless when I try to take them seriously in the manager's post-match interviews).

We'll have 9k fans there, will make 5 changes, and lose 1-0.

Call it the voice of experience!

Poll: What do you expect from the Charlton game?

No. I believe you have unrealistic expectations on what is going to be asked in the managers post-match interviews, taking into account the questions are being asked by someone who is employed by the club and/or public relations teams. You are repeatedly told this. Yes, I totally agree with you that the manager should face higher scrutiny but that won't happen through in house media. You are then a rude and condescending to anyone who points this out or disagrees with you. They reply in kind. You then play the victim, and in a lot of posts will add something about how you are treated/spoken to, for just having an opinion. Like your reply here. Failing to understand or realise how you write when someone gets in a debate with you. For someone who says that they like language/words and I believe being some sort of editor (I apologise, I can't remember the exact details) your inability to be able to have some self-reflection and acknowledge the words you use and the tone you chose, is ever so slightly spikey, is surprising

Despite stating facts, I look forward to being called a moron or something like that blah blah blah (also I think you are right about the 5 changes for West Ham)

As soon as the draw was made I thought we have to let the club know we want this game taken seriously. I’m sick (quarter of a century sick) of QPR throwing Cup games with reserve sides. I think West Ham will put out a weakened side and that’s up to them. We have a great opportunity here for a memorable win in front of the biggest Rs away turn out for years. If it takes a petition to do this then I’m in. Is there a fan representative? I’d go as far as having some kind of campaign where no one buys tickets until we get a written statement from the club, be it via Stephan, Nourry, or Jude the cat, that a full strength side will be selected.

easy for the club to reply yes no problem we will play the first team then week before the game , due to some unfortunate inuries and with important games coming up we have had to rest some of you fav players,
but in way of compensation heres
Joe Walsh
esquedina
etc

etc

who we think its imortant for them to show the world that they are no where near ready for the first team, see you at stoke

they seem to think they will put out a weaker team on their forum because of fixtures and players (I think two) at AFCON.

I’m all for putting out our best team for this match, but what will happen if we have a good run of results in the league beforehand, and we’re in a playoff place, or 1 or 2 points away from them?

Like it or not, the owners or the manager won’t be bothered about the FA Cup.

Can we put the petition on an enormous cardboard cut out of the FA Cup? That'll show'em.

I'm glad you agree with my post - even if I don't really mind either way.

As for the rest, ya de ya de ya. When I read, yet again, 'you have been told x, y, z' etc. etc'., I realise I'm not in dialogue with an adult in the room, but some kind of finger-wagging, pseudo-headmaster, at which point your (thankfully inaudible) voice turns into the sound of the teacher in Charlie Brown.

Once again, please try to understand that all there are are (i) individuals on one hand and (ii) people on the other, like you, who refuse to be such by turning themselves in some species of sheephood and/or, like you, aligning themselves with some cultish, supposedly collective view they then try to enforce as if makes them more persuasive.

It's probably falling on tin ears, but, here's the thing - it doesn't! Try to be a man, and not try to prop up an inner sense of inadequacy by buttressing your voice with those of nebulous others. It's really just a form of bullying. Anyway, just a tip!

Enjoy tonight's game!

No figure wagging here little man. Purely pointing out the obvious that you are oblivious too. You say you don't mind if people agree with you or not or maybe that's just directed towards me. Either way, if you don't care either way, why do you get all huffy and throw your toys out your pram.

I really want us to win this game more than I should.

Mrs and her family are all staunch West Ham. Would love to give them a slagging for the foreseeable.

Anyone know when tickets go on sale?

West Ham have announced the ticket prices:

NO excuse not to get a ticket – our allocation will be tier 3 or 4.

Thanks for posting the prices.

Now all we need is the FA to announce what date we're playing on & the kick off time!

Apparently it’s 3pm on Saturday 10th January according to a message from WHU to a fan enquiring about whether season tickets are valid for the fixture as they’ll have to move as we’ve taken up our full allocation. Could be a load of rubbish of course as there’s nothing on their website.
