| Dembele and Obikwu out for Charlton game on 17:10 - Feb 3 by Jigsore | Obikwu being both 6'4" and rapid doesn't bode well for me. That's a build that usually results in lots of knee injuries. |
So you think we should be in the market for a slow midget just in case he can play a bit more often?

| Dembele and Obikwu out for Charlton game on 16:10 - Feb 3 by Hunterhoop | Both the training ground groundsmen and the Loftus Road groundsmen (and sub contractors) report to one “Head of Sporting Operations” who has a background in cycling fitness. He oversees everything regards maximising our performance. I know I keep flagging this, but it seems utterly mind boggling to me that the areas failing the most at present seem to report to him, and that his background does not appear to qualify him for the role he is in, at a football club. It feels the most obvious role/area for attention at the club. I expect the club to tell us all why this thinking is entirely mistaken and he’s actually one of the best in the league though… |
so not only is he the best performances guy out there hes also handy with a lawnmower as well how very QPR that is

thinks its the type of injuries which are getting on peoples tits. all these impact injuries , players due back at xmas and still no where near coming back , players coming in from other clubs seemingly fit , pick up a minor injury one week the following week , no idea when he will be fit enough to play . not really a professional way of doing things is it ? add in the mud pie of a pitch we currently have yet even lower league clubs dont seem to have that problem , two fairly important factors of running a club to be even half succesful and its lets be honest its ameteur hour again

| Dembele and Obikwu out for Charlton game on 11:18 - Feb 7 with 1943 views | JamesB1979 | The club not only need to admit they have a serious problem with injuries and how to address it next season but also, just be honest. Don’t tell us Varane, Chair will be back end of January if that isn’t going to happen. If Chair is going to be back end of Feb….say that or maybe say March. Don’t just say things we want to hear…..just tell us the truth. I think most of us are pretty happy with progress this season but that doesn’t mean everything is going well. They need to accept the injury issue and be upfront with us. Please can we have an honest and realistic update this week. At the moment, the whole thing is farcical. | | | |

Was it me or, everytime the Ceefax page came round to QPR, it nearly always read: Les Ferdinand will have a late fitness test.

| Dembele and Obikwu out for Charlton game on 11:56 - Feb 7 with 1797 views | HammersmithR | This was posted by the club on 8 Jan and today is 7 February…. FOLLOWING the recent festive fixtures, the club would like to provide supporters with an injury update. Ilias Chair and Jake Clarke-Salter are continuing their rehabilitations and are expected to return to training later this month. Liam Morrison sustained a knock during the warm-up ahead of our home fixture with Sheffield Wednesday at the weekend. He was withdrawn from the match as a precaution and is expected to return to training next week. Jonathan Varane suffered a minor knee sprain during the fixture and is being monitored ahead of a potential return later this month. Kwame Poku sustained a hamstring injury against the Owls. He is expected to return to training next month. Rumarn Burrell suffered a contact injury in the game. The striker will undergo further assessment but at this stage is not expected to return before March. So realistically we were supposed to have Chair and JCS back by end of Jan after their training. JCS has vanished again. Poku has essentially been injured since the first game of the season. Varane was supposed to be back in January. Still nothing. Then we have Obika from Coventry who managed to get injured in his first training session. It’s appalling and you do feel we are being given a load of bull by the club with these updates. | | | |

I'm as down on Williams as you are Hunter, but do we know that the groundsmen report to him? If so fair enough, but I haven't been able to find anything (in my admitted 10 minutes of effort). The senior management has Darren Bathews as Estates & Training Ground Manager, who I'd have thought oversees them. Can't tell who he in turn reports to though. [Post edited 7 Feb 12:17]

It’s people’s interpretation of the phrase ‘return to training’: if players have recovered from their injury and only start training at the end of January for example are people realistically expecting them to be playing a week later?? For me the updates gives information on how serious the injury is (as known at the date of the update) and a rough idea of an anticipated return date. Any dates given need to be vague unless the player is already back in training and fit for selection otherwise people will complain the player isn’t back in the squad on the date stated. Injury recovery times and training to be match fit times are not an exact science.

Ned, I’m normally pretty aligned with your views on the club. But I think you are being generous there. By 6th Feb, neither JCS, Chair, Poku, Varane are even on bench or pictured in training. I think if any of them were training, they would be shown doing so. Now I do think we have an injury issue, particularly “hamstrings” and they need to look into it. But I don’t think it’s as bad as made out by some. However, just be up front. If Chair, JCS, Varane, Poku won’t be seen in the team until March…..just say so. Yeah it will be annoying but just be honest with us. I’m pretty happy at our progress this season. But please just say how it is to us. Don’t paint a positive picture….if anything be conservative with injuries so nice surprise with Chair starts a game when not expected. We are seriously missing Chair and Poku at the moment. Could be difference between mid table and 6th.

Is that a misspelling or a bit of an ill timed joke? Thought he was coming into some better form and we're really missing creative players of his ilk right now, that's a really devastating blow for the guy I hope the fella in PU is feeling bad for repeatedly calling him weak and to get up at least

Yes ACL injury requiring surgery so that's him done again this season. How unlucky is that kid? I still blame our crap pitch for a lot of this. Wishing him better.

What a shame for him, those first few games for us he looked so great, but hasn't been the same since coming back from surgery - and now this. Feels like a real 'what could have been' signing...

Doubtful players seemed to play more often than not back in the day. Rowlands at Sheff Wed on promotion day another example. Nowadays every injury seems to take way longer than first suggested.
