I’m not sure we can blame anyone at the club for the 2 ACL injuries. But it is fair to ask about what is going on with Poku, Chair, Varane, Obikwu, Burrell and JCS. We were lead to believe that 5 of those 6 should be back or in training by now. Even have half of them available would make a huge difference for our run in. We are 3 points off 6th.

Sorry, is there a link to the ACL confirmation?

Is it just me that finds it strange that Rangers post this on x, but don't report it on the club website?

Best wishes to Karamoke for his recovery.

Nope.
That's where I went to look for confirmation.
And, nothing.

Also - posting on Twitter but not on the offy on a Saturday evening when we've had a Friday game a full week after the injury leaves the club open to further charges of news management as opposed to being open and honest with the club's members.

WLS have also reported it

https://www.westlondonsport.co

QPR winger Karamoko Dembele faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a long-term knee injury.

Dembele, 22, was helped off the pitch midway through the first half of the recent win against Coventry.

And scans have confirmed that he has suffered anterior cruciate ligament damage. The injury will require surgery.

He will therefore miss the rest of the campaign and potentially the start of next season.

Dembele has made 51 Championship appearances since arriving from French club Brest, initially on loan, in 2024.

I see your point Brian, but I'm not 100% sure I agree with you.

It's likely that the website and the social media accounts are managed by different members of staff

On a Saturday evening it might just mean the website admin has a better social life than the social media manager.

But it does look unprofessional for the message to appear on one channel and not the other. They really should try to get that coordinated better.

I'm not judging on it, Kensal. All I'm saying is that the club has faced two years of accusations about exactly this kind of thing, and that this leaves them open to more criticism.

I certainly agree with you there.

But I don't see the urgent need for the club to put out this injury update on a Saturday evening.

Are they trying to ruin people's weekend!?

It could and should have waited until Monday.

Maybe the social media manager jumped the gun. Or maybe they were given the update without any instructions on when to publish.

From the outside looking in it appears that the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing, which to me does look unprofessional!

I hate to burst peoples conspiratorial bubbles but could it be that the media team have been given a rare mid season Saturday off? Posting on Twitter I’d imagine is far easier than putting something out on the Offish. If they’d left it til Monday to tell people I’m sure there’d be plenty on here who’d moan about not being informed as soon as the club were given the news.

I’m sure in the past the only response to this unfortunate news would have been to wish Dembele a speedy recovery. Now we over analyze every possible aspect about how the information was released by whom and when, if the pitch was to blame, how the medical team is to blame and how the performance team will will spin this news. Some people really need to get a grip.

Or, the club leadership assess why people feel the need to do that, why it's happening, how they've spoken to the support base to make them feel like that, and modify the approach.

Wasn’t Dembélé’s injury caused when the Coventry player ran across his heels. He went down too and had to go off later in the first half. Seems bizarre to blame the pitch, let alone blame Dembélé.

Exactly that.

Beckenham - I'm not a conspiracy theorist, and I think if you read my posts back, I've tried twice to say this isn't helpful to their reputation. I've not assigned any motive.

There are ways of writing a news update and it can instantly be editted for the different formats required ie whether that's for instagram, X, facebook or as a website news item.

And can be done in an instant.

So yes odd some news is being relayed in one particular way only.

Larkeche had Hamstring injury prior to doing his ACL back in August. If the guy is able to play professionally again it'll be an achievement in itself.

Maybe you’re thinking of Esquerdinha being carried off with a leg brace. I feared the worst for him but it turned out less serious.

In relation to KD's ACL injury, that is, 100% the story! Not the methodology of it's delivery!!

Can't say I've been that impressed overall, but I do think he was showing some positive signs recently. He was playing well against Coventry and maybe, he was just getting the hang of things. Now, he's back to square one. For that, he should have our sympathy not a page of saying how some would have liked to hear this bad news.
