Since Bungle and the boys rode into town in their clown car with square wheels we have steadily marched towards half a BILLION pounds of losses and continue to do so. That includes two “life changing” periods in the Premiership Wow. Just wow.

| Club Accounts on 08:02 - Feb 18 with 2358 views | stevec | Not pretty. Over the last two years we’ve accumulated £35m losses, so if FFP is still set at £39m over a rolling three year period we’ve got about £4m of losses to play with this season! It’s not necessarily that bad as once again, Eze comes to the rescue. Again, to what level, who knows, but let’s work with £9m, which gives us £13m this season. Add on any allowable expenses that don’t go under FFP, we maybe have £20m or thereabouts, for this season, so we maybe just touch the boundary yet again. Obviously there’s two glaring issues, one, we aren’t being very successful with this buy to sell malarkey, and ask any businessman if a 98% ratio of wages to gross turnover is a sign of a business being ran well and he’ll laugh you out of town. | | | |

And let's see what you won for this spend... Madsen, Celar, Varane, Esquerdinha, Bennie, Morrison.

| Club Accounts on 08:13 - Feb 18 with 2308 views | daveB | Looks like they need at least one maybe 2 big sales this summer Wages spent £98 of every £100 of revenue is mad though and that has probably gone up as well with last summers signings and new contracts [Post edited 18 Feb 8:19]

Much as I don't like this buy to sell thing that we seem to be so bad at, what I don't understand is if it is true we had £4m - £5m bids for Varane why they didn't snap their arms off? I rate Varane more than most, but I can't see that his value would be likely to increase much over that? Now we've shipped off Morrison to Aberdeen so we're hoping someone is going to buy Madsen for what, £7m? Seems far fetched to me so we've bought to sell, gone nowhere in the league, out both the cups first round....and made a loss. So on to the next plan of selling Kone, Dembele, Poku, Burrell, Edwards for more than we paid plus wages, whilst moving up the league. We're really going to need Burrell to come back firing and net a goal a game.

Now you know why they're keen to shift Sam Field...

Look forward to hearing from likes of Simon and Niall about what this means but hard to see how we don't face a points deduction next season given what we spent last summer and in January.

Crikey - I really thought we were through all this pain?! Or at least the worst part of it. Maybe not. Alarming.

Where’s the £10m. Isn’t it £6m gross and then £5m net, page 28.

But that's what makes me laugh. The only players we seem able to sell are solid, unspectacular players like Field, Dieng, Dickie, Dykes - who can command a certain level of fee but that's about it. So we don't make much money and they are actually players you need in a squad to make progress up the league. What you really need for this model to work, an Eze once in a generation aside, is some striker who isn't THAT great but scores 6 in 4 or something and you flog 'em for a vastly overpriced sum. I guess Kelman was a mini version of that. And I suppose the Burrell plan would have been perfect if we could keep him on the pitch.
