Twas a good, heartily sung rendition of "You lost the League - at Goodison Park' ringing out the other night. I just kept smirking, thinking of Mr Spitty-man's face... the absolute Grade A whiny tool.
66% possession last night - and still get thumped 5-0.
That proves to me that Russell Martin's tippy-tappy 'keep the ball at all costs' football doesn't work - not with these players. Everyone knows it - except Martin himself. It's pointless keeping the ball if you do f@ck all with it. I saw RM's post-match interview last night & the guy was utterly embarrassing - totally clueless.
Time to change the way we play by changing the manager. I'm done with him and his sidekicks. Sounds like most of the players are too - and just at the point in the season when we needed them to be focussed & together. Instead, they look as lost & rudderless as I've ever seen them.
RM knows we've bodged it after the defeat at Cardiff. I'm expecting (and hoping) a few fringe players get a game tonight. Nothing to lose as it were. Can't see the point in our better players risking an injury that'll keep them out of the play-offs (ala Stuey).
It's a Europe-wide problem I'm afraid and one that won't be fixed anytime soon.
Germany has more illegal immigrants than anywhere else & Chancellor Olaf Scholz said recently, "We must finally deport on a grand scale those who have no right to stay in Germany."
At least Rishi and Co are trying to do something about it. We can't continue as we are.
Let's hope that the Saints team that went on a 22-league game unbeaten run turns up for the play-offs - and not the half-arsed, poncy shirkers team that were beaten by Cardiff City reserves.
Because it was against Manchester United. Just like yesterday and Coventry City, you can't have a 'lesser' team beat the likes of mighty Man United - not in the modern era. The media & the money men demand an all-Manchester final.
As much as I'm not a fan of the current manager, he can't be blamed for the countless sh1tshow of near misses & dreadful finishing that has plagued our strikers all season long.
I don't think we'll see Janny B at Leicester either after his yellow card today? So... no Stuey on Tuesday and Captain Jack back in the centre of defence.
Throw into the mix an utterly woeful Che Adams & Adam Armstrong up front who couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo between them half the time & yeah, I'm really looking forward to Tuesday night's match.
Also - WTF was Brooks doing today? He rounded the keeper... but instead of firing the ball into an almost empty net, he decided to try and round the keeper again! I mean... I really like the lad - but f@ck me, what is wrong with this team???
It's been our biggest problem all season - failure to get that second (or third) goal. Clock ticks down to eighty-something minutes, a lapse of concentration, and it ends 1-1.
Today's game is a perfect example of that. Let's hope that, just for once, there isn't a sting in the tail come full time and Lady Luck is on our side today.
We really should be killing these games off though. So frustrating Saints.
