The Frankie Friday Music Thread.....RIP 07:01 - Apr 4 with 2056964 viewsLblock

Here I am starting this from my recovery bed and no clue how to link tunes on an iPhone!

Will stick on my offerings from a PC later unless the other knuckles thread is the preference to use?

House classics and dancey dazzlers only, no hijacking from suicide rock please!

In the beginning there was jack.......

Been meaning to update for years.
Can only be one.......

Camden Palace staple - have said before on here... I remember hearing that for the first time in there and it blew me away.

Made it my mission to buy it the very next day

Funnily enough im going there in a few weeks to watch Prince's old band The New Power Generation do a tribute show. Not sure ive been back there since i double dropped in about 1998.. lol

The two records I loved and could see were a thing before I ever knew what Acid House was

This was one of the first for me….

Having been into Electro & Hip Hop I caught the wave of acid slightly later than I should’ve done really. Still loved the fact it was underground and got sneered at by almost everyone. Loved the rawness and energy of it….. they asked Can You Feel It?…. I could and it felt great

I love the fact Oochie koochie was made from samples of Colin Favers Kiss fm radio show.

Prog. The drop between 7 mins 40 secs to 8 mins 15.... Could you imagine your average modern pop EDM audience waiting for the payoff at 8:15? I don't think so.

No pinky and perky bongos Steve!

Is there a more haunting bassline than this. Still sounds so good.

Courtesy of JDL who reminded me of this on his show Sunday. Beautiful Balearic chugger

Classic British Progressive house from 1997. A good time to be alive.

Mate me too, I couldn't condone house or acid house, my last 12'' maybe late 87 was Starsky and Hutch, then as well as Oochy Koochy, i think it was these 3 lol or 303 and then well we allknow the score lol

Oh yes…. Yes indeed.

Hitting the Balearics in 1988 as a wide eyed 17 year old and seeking out the dance clubs due to my soul boy / ska head tastes took me to a new world. Vaguely aware of this new phenomenon via friends and the wonderful building industry of the time but I walked into Alexandra’s Nightclub that first night and it took my breath away.
The raw 303 sound and pumping beats caught me like a lasso and it’s never let me go.
Royal House was the anthem that holiday and the rest is history…. Who’s in the House? I said who’s in the house?

Thirty four bleedin years ago!!!

Unbeatable.
Simply the Don of summer backdrop tracks.

Shout to JdL who opened with an altogether different (but good) version of this the other day.

Stay as cool as you can people
