Finally read Moby Dick last year. A great book with evocative descriptions of Nantucket in the early chapters. When John Huston directed the film in the 1950s for 19th Century New Bedford he used Youghal on the coast in Southern Ireland at the border of Cork and Waterford. Always fancied a trip to Nantucket. As with Puget Sound and the Florida Quays America's extremities (fnar fnar) fnascinate me. Enjoy the trip.

Boats...running a very expensive one aground is not recommended.

The Old Windmill...tour guide is an Aussie who could pass for Paul Hogan.
Walking / stumbling around the cobblestone streets
Real Fog...and the butterfly inducing sound of ships fog horns at night.
