Warbs mentioned in his post-match that BOS, Amos and Wallace are all close to being fit - if you look at it that way things are actually quite positive - start of the season the idea of not having Bright or Luke in the starting 11 would have been quite worrying but we've still got them to come back in.

Makes sense to pick an u23 player given there aren’t loads of attacking options and little pace on the bench rather than just another defender who won’t come on anyway. Good experience for him even if he doesn’t play and gives the u23s encouragement to put a shift in.

It's also nice to see we don't have to rush players back and play them until they are 100% fit, as well as MW showing the youngsters that he trust them.

My thoughts are that Warburton has such a solid squad of two serious options per position that he is willing to rest players as soon as a twinge of an injury crops up to avoid an injury crisis later this season - great that we’re in this position.

Rangel should be rested one in four and Kane needs games.

Smith, Amos, Owens wouldn’t be getting a game anyway and can be adequately covered on the bench by Scowen if injury niggles crop up.

BOS and Shodipo would be coming off the bench, potentially and (as I mentioned in another thread), the potential for their impact was missed vs Luton, but not detrimentally.

Amos wouldn’t be starting games anyway.

Hall - Cameron or Wallace need game time soon, and Hall needs protecting.
