In the early 90's my brother and his girlfriend went to see a French film, which was over 3 hours long and set in one room with 3 actors. 30 mins in his girlfriend said she was going to get some food - he assumed Maltesers/popcorn etc, but she actually left the cinema, went for a meal in a restaurant and came back for the last 10 mins of the film.

We considered walking out of Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer at the Prince Charles, not because it was horrific and sick, which it very much was, but because a bloke in front of us stood and up and shouted at Henry to "get his hands off" one of the characters - and he really shouted. We would have left as I'm a coward, but the bloke promptly feel asleep and stayed that way until the end of the film.
Suffering since 1978.

I watched 'Lock Stock...' at the cinema and had the bloke sat behind me giving an audio commentary all the way through - "Vinnie Jones has just arrived with a shotgun" etc. It was annoying but I thought it was a lovely thing to do for a friend/family who presumably was visually impaired. As we left the cinema at the end of the film, it became apparent that the woman that he was with, wasn't visually impaired at all. Cheers.
My mum and dad were at the cinema once and someone in the front row was wrapping their Christmas shopping throughout the film.

When I was a teenager, my girlfriend and I went to the cinema but got confused about what was on. We were expecting "The entity" but arrived at the venue only to find that the only film showing was "ET" .
We struggled through about twenty minutes of it, then bailed out.

That just reminded me of a story a mate told me when we were discussing the merits of ear plugs.
He told me a friend's son had been desperate to go and see one of his favourite bands play live. As the son was a young teenager and too young to go alone, his dad agreed to go along with him. It was so loud that the dad ended up with ringing in his ears which lasted for weeks.
Me: Which band was it? My mate: I've never heard of them but I believe they are called Slipknot... Me: .
The moral of the story: Always do your research.
