My overpaid and mostly over aged useless squad for next season in the championship, because nobody will purchase any of them at the end of the season (the few decent players we have will leave). We could easily end up being a Portsmouth, can’t see this squad getting us promoted can you?

TF said Remy would be off for sure, but Samba will hopefully stay.
If staying near to his family is the most important thing for Samba then he might stay for one season in the Championship to see if we can bounce back.
The squad definitely needs a complete overhaul, i wonder if Harry has the energy or enthusiasm to do it though - he certainly seems defeated and frustrated already.

TF is a great guy but also a business man, this bunch of player who arn't good enough for the championship for one reason or the other, they must be costing at least £20million in wages a year.

The facts that we have offer no evidence whatsoever that the Mittals or TF have any intention of recouping their money and/or pulling the plug in terms of providing cashflow for the day to day running of the club.

Townsend wages "over £50,000 pw" according to Daily Fail Harry says less than £5K
Jenas again on over £50K per week - same source - Harry says about £20K.

With Zamora's fitness issues we could be stuck with him and Hoilett didn;t exactly have anyone beating down the door when we got him. They would cause all sorts of problems in the Championship though. Traore would also be a gamble for someone to take, but I'd be happy if he stayed put.
For me though, the big one would be Samba. If he stayed our defence would be immense, it would boost everyone else in the team and the supporters. A squad along the lines of that above would be more than good enough for the division below in my view. | |
