Was lucky enough to see a preview of this film the other night.
my word, what a film!
Fantastic acting from Steve Coogan and John C. Reilly, and the comedy duo.
it covers their second major UK tour, and will make you laugh, cry then laugh again.
Cannot recommend it enough. 5 stars from me! |  |

Saw a really good documentary about them a few years ago. They came together by chance and went on to be one of the most amazing comedy duo’s ever.
Stan was very serious off screen and an obsessive worker on the scripts.
Both had lots of issues (booze, women, gambling etc) but clearly had utmost respect, admiration and love for each other even through tough times on and off screen.
Probably wont be able to see it on 5he big screen but will eagerly await the DVD release. |  | | |

The missus is a Son of the Desert (no daughters apparently, they're all sons), and when we went to a convention back in November we were lucky enough to get a preview viewing. Very impressive performances from the leads. |  |

There is a book on the British tours of Laurel & Hardy by A.J.Marriott.

it covers all venues, hotels they stayed at, room numbers where found, interviews mate, photographs taken etc.
I was stunned to find a hotel in Northampton i stayed in in the 80's had, 27 years earlier Stan laurel stay in the same room.
Must admit to loving the pair, great timing, honest genteel humour, no swearing for laughs, just a look, or a harumph from Ollie and your laughing.
just a wonderful book and again, recommended. | |

yup, your right. no wonder it was so well done in accuracy.
