Swansea get there man 12:34 - Jun 15 with 697 viewsQPR1882

Probably the worst of the manager merry go round deals at the moment.

Hopefully he will flop. Must have agreed to continue with the tippy tappy borefest style.

It's a gamble for sure, but i'm not sure it's the worst move - I'd say Clarke at WBA is a bigger gamble.

True at least Laudrup has plenty of experience as a manager.

Exactly, and Clarke didn't exactly do a great job at Anfield as King Kenny's number 2.

That Swansea blogger will be happy - he wanted Laudrup.

It's a sign of how important the Premiership has become that Laudrup would consider going to Swansea, which is a small town in the middle of nowhere (and all the more to be congratulated for surviving in the Premiership).

I can see laurup going one of two ways - a success (which for them is another mid table avoid relegation - as is us to be fair to them) - or it will be a complete disaster.

As someone said earlier - its a gamble, but not the worst appointment they could have made.

Rodgers - Liverpool: not sure how the scousers will take to him and he WONT be given any time
Clark - WBA: untried before - Stuart Huston was a good number 2 remember!
Houghton - Norwich: seems reasonable on paper, but Norwich over achieved last year and Holt looks as though he wants to jummp ship
Lambert - Villa: did well at Norwich, but the pressures at Villa are greater

of all that lot Lambert, Clark and Rodgers are all bigger gambles than Laurup IMO

Why stop now, just when I'm hating it
Poll: Is it essential that QPR stay in the Borough of H&F?

Don't think Lambert is a gamble. Sound appointment, very decent manager.

Bare bones.

there is a lot to do at Villa - pressure to get results with not a lot (other than Bent) and not very much cash.

its a big jump up (but I admit not as big as Rodgers)

There's more to Lambert than meets the eye. I think he goes under the radar because of his dull and incomprehensible interviews.

He must be the only manager in Britain to have got his coaching badges in Germany.

And Norwich getting points from QPR was like taking candy from a baby.

Agreed. No gamble appointing Lambert - especially after Mcleish.

On the Steve Clarke thing, when was the last time he did a good job even as a number two? Dreadful season with Liverpool just gone, relegated at West Ham the year before... I think he's a bit of a myth.

WBA have concerns IMHO

Good number twos of the past include:

Brian Kidd
Steve McLaren
Stewart Houston
Steve Kean

The prosecution rests
