Derby docked another nine points
at 17:14 2 Dec 2021

HMRC chased Bolton for the full amount and that was only £1.2million. The first cheque written by the new owner was to HMRC for £1.2million. They t let Derby off the hook. Expect a winding up petition sooner rather than later as they’ll want what they can get out of the bones that are left. After footballing debts they are next in the food chain. The only negotiation that they might enter into is with a new owner over a payment plan but they will expect every penny to be paid.

Would you if you was him with the knowledge that he isn’t buying any real estate whatsoever, a squad made up of kids, a few half decent players and a load of journeymen on short term contracts, a manager on £90k a week, a huge tax bill, footballing debts and to pay other creditors at least 25p in the £. Now what part of this business would be attractive to you if you had the funds that this American bloke has?

HMRC will not waive any tax due even if it meant that company involved goes into liquidation and they get nothing. The danger is that they then set the precedent for other businesses to renage on their tax bills and then requesting a discount. That would lead to much greater losses in tax revenue than the £29million owed by Derby. Ultimately HMRC have a responsibility to the tax payer to get as much tax income as they can.

Sounds like the prospective new buyer is stalling based on the fact that he would, if he was stupid enough to buy the club that he would fall responsible for the tax bill. Well as a new owner he would be. And what else would he have bought other than the footballing liabilities to other clubs for transfer fees still owed, no stadium, a squad made up of youth players, old journeyman defenders, a few reasonable players and Ravel! It's not something that the investors in Dragon's Den would describe as 'lucrative'. The club is shot, lets just hope that they are allowed to complete the season just for the benefit of us keeping the points we got. Or to add fairness to the situation to award three points for every game to the opposition for the games left and a three nil walkover. But Clive in his pre-match assessment is right. It shouldn't be the club that is responsible for this tax bill but Morris or any other owner. He has stolen from the general public and he has failed to provide NIC payments for employees and should at the very least be barred from owning any business of any description ever again. And why HMRC are not taking legal action against him as a director of a business that has obviously traded whilst insolvent is beyond me.

Exactly, although Sexton did provide the finishing touches and players from that team all talked about Sexton travelling to the continent each weekend to study how foreign teams played and implemented ideas into that team.

But this team is so reminiscent of the 1972-73 side with a mixture of old heads like Venables, Mancini and McLintock and a promising young keeper together with some real skill in Bowles and Francis.

Always a sellers market in January and it will take some money to shift him. Warburton has already mentioned Chair and £25million in the same sentence.

Sinton. Like Andy Sinton he is good with both feet, can run at people and provides good accurate crosses and knows where the back of the net is. He is also better than his £25million brother. Chair and Willock really know each other’s game. Can’t think of another pair of players who are almost telepathic than Stan and Gerry.

WHAT A COUPLE OF GOALS......

Isn’t about time we scored a scruffy goal rather than trying to tie up the top ten goals of the season in the EFL? Gray for me but Willock’s any other day would have been goal of the month in the Championship.

WR Derby County - Another game in a weird time slot Match Day Thread

Just had an early look on the Stoke message board. They are not looking forward to Sunday. One poster called us the anti-Christ of football teams for them. Fast passing, movement and pacy! That’ll do me. Someone somewhere is going to cop one hell of a hiding soon.

God that was frustrating at times. Clearly a class above Derby and dominated but the slowing down at a snails pace and going backwards when a forward pass was clear to see was more than annoying. Johansen I hate to say it at times reminds me of Barton with his ‘Hollywood’ balls to nowhere. Dozzell for me was MOTM followed closely by Willock. This team needs to believe that it is capable of getting in the top two.

Just been reading one of their message boards, one poster described as far more direct and physical than the likes of Bournemouth and Fulham and being a top six side with a bottom six style of play. Well I hope that for this particular poster we produce another Huddersfield style of performance with the end product this time. If we can get the early goal then I can see a three or four goal win. Their determination to fight against all odds can only take them so far and also bare in mind with January just around the corner a few of the players agents may just be having that word in their ears about not getting injured ahead of any move away from this particular disaster zone.

Ryan Woods red card
at 11:51 25 Nov 2021

It was just as cynical a hack as Woods was and it was testament to Albert that he got up and carried on as he saw an opportunity for an attack. Another player would have rolled around in agony. And their player made much more contact than Woods did.

If Woods was a red card then the same could be said for the Huddersfield No.10 last night with a cynical hack on Albert if I recall in the first 10 minutes, which the ref allowed to let the game continue before coming back to book the player.

Some of the football last night was a real pleasure to watch and the combinations between Wallace, Chair and Willock were unstoppable at times. No coincidence that we look better with Wallace back and he really does bring a different dimension when we are attacking and very unlucky not to get on the scoresheet a couple of times. Dozzell is starting to make that central midfield role his own, always looking for a pass and never hides and it really is great to know that we have four very good players in Johansen, Dozzell, Field and Amos to rotate those positions to keep each other fresher and to maintain the quality. And cannot forget Dom Ball either who isn't that shabby.

Dunne is becoming a bit of a monster in the central three with Dickie and Barbet providing the more culture and that's not saying that Dunne isn't poor on the ball. I really like this team, sure they are going to make you pull your hair out at times but as a team going forward they are as good as anyone else in this division and certainly a fair few in the PL from what I've seen this season.
