Difficult to rate the players given such different 45s.
A couple of things: Poku has been getting very positive reviews but I wasn't completely convinced. Although he beat the defender frequently it didn't always lead to much and often he slowed the attack down. He had 10 shots often cutting in from the wing, but only 2 on target.
I thought the red card was fair enough, but the PNE players surrounding the ref may have tipped the balance to red.
And I thought Koki made a big difference coming on at half time. His constant running and willingness to press and take on defenders was a breath of fresh air after a listless first half. |

We did our best against a good team. Although we could have snatched a draw Boro could have had a couple more but for fine keeping from Charles. No reason for despair but it gives us a clear picture of the challenge of getting into the top spots in this division. |

Some of our passing moves were gorgeous, although the final ball sometimes let us down. 20 shots, but only 4 on target - not good enough.
Apart from Rumarn's finishing the win was built on excellent defending and strong, determined tackling. We won a lot of challenges in the first half especially from sharp interceptions. Even when we were disrupted by the 4 subs and other players were running out of steam the defence stayed strong.
Lamptey and Kamara showed why we'll struggle to keep them if they can keep fit - a class above. Vale had one of his off days.
A word of praise for Adamson who has come on a lot this season. If he keeps this up he's a reliable sub and maybe more.
MotM has to be Burrell for his goals and non stop running, but there were close contenders. |

Not brilliant but good enough to beat a poor Leicester team. What was encouraging apart from the result was we managed to play much more on the front for than in recent games.
Morgan's best performance this season and Ronnie looked like he's settled in now. Dare we be optimistic for the rest of the season?
I'd give Harvey Vale the MotM award: 1 goal and 2 assists, generally positive going forward and contributed more defensively than in some games. |

Not physical enough, too easily bullied off the ball and too many unforced errors. But the excuses are legitimate: a young relatively inexperienced team, injuries, afraid to pick Mbengue in case he gets a card, the quality and money spent on the Blades line up. Once we got the subs on and formation right we were pretty well organised, but our midfield is weak without Nico.
I thought Kone was terrific for his work rate usually without any support and unlucky to have the goal disallowed. Jimmy also played well, but Kone is my MotM. |

A cracking all round performance from the Rs. Everyone played their part and no obvious weak links. Bennie, on early, for Dembele had his best game for Rs and although he didn't make the best of two tricky chances you could see his potential more than in previous outings. Kone scored a lovely goal from a gem of a Madsen cross and worked his socks off. He could have been subbed late on when he was running on empty, but I guess Stephan thought his strength was more useful than Kolli's more creative talents.
Vale had a terrific game and as always these days Madsen was magnificent and took his goal brilliantly. The sort of goal he's been threatening, blasted home from the edge of the area when Rushworth could only push Vale's perfect cross into the danger area.
You could see touches of quality when Coventry were a bit more accurate with their close passing in midfield and often showed a better first touch, but they didn't trouble Walsh until the goal and without Rushworth making one brilliant save and a couple of sharp ones we'd have won more convincingly.
I like our new tactic of defending corners with 3 players, Smyth, Bennie and Vale positioned on the half way line. Not sure if this was a tactic specifically for Coventry or something we'll see regularly, but it worked today.
Of course it's especially satisfying to beat a Frank Lamppost team and get revenge for the thrashing we suffered, but best of all this was a good, all round professional display by a team playing sensible and occasionally exhilarating football.

Hard to give scores as often not sure who was who, but didn't think anyone was outstanding or had a mare. All round did their best, but eventually ran out of steam. Key stat from BBC is WHU won 93% of tackles, we won 81%. Both goals came from our defenders missing tackles. Although it's not hard to see why West Ham are likely to be relegated there is still a gap in terms of physicality, stamina and pace which showed late on. Credit to the boys for a good showing. Dunne possibly our MotM and good effort in difficult circumstances from Kolli. Summerville best player on the pitch. |

We deserve nice things... sometimes!
Great all round performance. We should have put the game to bed long before their equaliser, but in spite of dominating we didn't test their keeper enough. Best chance was probably Koni's which he put wide from a tight angle. I haven't seen us control the midfield so well, even though they had the possession, for a long time. Madsen and Varane were magnificent well supported by Smyth and Saito, with a special mention for Mbengue, who had his best game at right back.

Surprised Stephan went with the same team, bar Nardi. I'd have thought 2 or 3 needed a rest. Madsen hasn't been at his best in recent games and Cook often shows his age. On the other hand Burrell seems to just keep going. And hasn't Morgan done enough in a couple of sub appearances too deserve a start?
The second Norwich goal was a blatant foul, but our defence looks vulnerable. There's not much evidence of positive input fr.om Steve Bould.
Maybe we were tired after the long trip and late return on Wednesday, but we just didn't cover the spaces in midfield and far too often Norwich could easily pass through us.
But 6 points in a 3 game week is a good return. |

Excellent result, but to be honest, a funny performance. We should have found the back of the net more than three times. Some great moves and some iffy defending. JCS was unsurprisingly rusty and probably at fault for both goals. Varane and Dembele had their best games of the season, but Chair was outstanding. Kolli did well in his short outing. Great to see him on the pitch and I wonder if he could start ahead of Kone, who's form has dipped. |
