I think it's also pretty arrogant and stupid that we've now got a really long break before the pink ball game. They've been offered a pink ball match with similar conditions as preparation and they've said no. Really? So just nets then for 11 days? |
 | Forum Reply | Ashes thread at 08:09 22 Nov 2025
Bringing in Head has been the game changer. They're beating us at our own game now. So disappointed after all the hype. Just brain dead batting again, the bowlers can't keep going with that intensity, especially if they are barely getting a break in-between innings. Stokes can't work miracles each time we need digging out of a hole. I fear for this series now, with Cummins to come back and possibly Hazlewood. It feels a bit ominous. 11 day break until the pink ball test. None of the batters have much experience with that. Starc will be licking his lips. |

I've now had two people recommend The Beast In Me on Netflix, apparently very very good. So will start that some point soon, has any one seen it? For something a bit more light hearted and those into nature I enjoyed watching Hamza's Wild Isles on iPlayer. He is such a likeable person and his passion and genuine delight for getting to see some of Britain's more hidden wildlife is really heart warming. Sometimes nature programmes can be a bit same old but this was really enjoyable. |

I don't usually pay attention to this xG rubbish. But there's is 1.02. Ours is 1.5. Yet they are winning 4-1? Does this just highlight that we gift goals to our opposition? |

Fantastic series and advert for test cricket. But the selectors lost that last match for us. India should have got nowhere near 400 runs in their second innings. But selecting Bethall who's barely played 1st class cricket and who contributed nothing and selecting Overton (who again contributed, nothing) was ridiculous. The run chase was always going to be almost impossible and I am very surprised we got anywhere near it. Fair play to India who bowled really well there. Siraj is surely man of the series? Looking to the ashes we can't take Pope. The Aussies will roast him alive, he just doesn't have the temperament. He looks nervous every time he bats and rarely comes up with a notable contribution. Crawley just rides the coat tails of Duckett. Again, he rarely contributes a noteworthy total. Another the Aussies will pick off easily. So it always comes down to Root to hold us together and we can't rely on that, especially down there. |

Good start so far... India just need to hold it together for the first 20 overs or so. I don't have much confidence in this bowling attack but Atkinson has been bang on it so far. Woakes has looked good but then these are the perfect conditions for some one like him. Jimmy Anderson would have been in his element here! |
 | Forum Reply | New 3rd Shirt… at 09:43 31 Jul 2025
If it came as an option to buy it without a gambling sponsor all over the front I would buy it. Haven't bought a shirt for many years usually due to this fact. Why couldn't they have made the third kit as an option to have a charity rather than a sponsor. Like Grenfell Foundation, would have been perfect with the green as well. |

I second this. Been ordering regularly from them for years and they do a lot of money off offers and the like. I think they give you points towards a discount on your birthday! But the marketing aside the actual coffee and variety is excellent. I drink a lot of Decaf too and a couple of their blends are lovely. I use a cafetiere but thinking of getting an aero press... Is it worth it? Apparently it makes a superior cuppa. |

and THAT is why football is an absolute joke these days. How in the world is that a handball. He had no idea about it. Total shambles ruling out a perfectly good goal. Pathetic. |

And in League 1, 'joint top scorer' Richard Kone is short listed for player of the season... Errrr, no he's joint 2nd top scorer. And let's forget the striker who's performing well in an otherwise fairly average team for the league. |

I can't believe that between Bristol City and Preston, we are the clubs with the current longest spell in the Championship (almost 10 years). How we have managed not to get relegated in that time with the losing record we have is a miracle! |

 | Forum Reply | Liverpool Newcastle Cup Final at 08:23 17 Mar 2025
I think that shows how much more it meant to the Newcastle fans and how much more of an occasion it was to them. Many of the Liverpool fans, a number of which are probably London based anyway, have had numerous cup finals over the years and probably think closer to the line of 'it's just another match'. The Liverpool players just seemed tired and played without any overt passion or spirit. In compassion several of their players were celebrating tackles and throw ons as if they had just scored. I'm not bothered who wins the league but I bet Arsenal and Forest will shorten that gap towards the end of the season as Liverpool limp over the line. Much like the last time they won it, they had a terrible run towards the end of the season. |

Just to bring this back to life... I tried the St Austell Proper Job 0.5% IPA with a curry last night. I highly recommend. Probably one of the best non-alcoholics beers I have had to date and pretty close to the real thing in taste and feel. Can be found in Morrisons. Lots more seem to have come in to the market recently and the taste is only going to improve (mostly anyway). |
 | Forum Reply | Trump v Zelensky at 08:43 1 Mar 2025
As people have said on here it was a total set up for the benefit of the Russian state. They allowed some one from Russian state media in on the dressing down. Then when it was pointed out that they probably shouldn't be there, there was a quick statement that says 'oh yeah we have removed this person.' I mean, I imagine the security levels for these events are pretty tight. But somehow some one from Russian state media was present? It all stinks and I fear for what is to come in the future. Trump may think he is behaving in a way that makes America strong and that they will benefit from it but actually they will get nothing from this in the end. Ukraine aren't going to suddenly defer and say, yeah you're right let's get a peace deal and hand over the entire country to Putin. Makes me sick how they are trying to twist this around and make out that Zelensky is being unreasonable because he's had his country invaded. |
 | Forum Reply | QPR v Derby match thread at 20:08 14 Feb 2025
That tackle in the first 2 minutes shows this referee is going to allow Derby to kick our players around with impunity. That was a blatant yellow card let alone a foul that wasn't even given! |

Used to be a postie in W12 and if they ever moved it to a 12:30 KO (less often 10-15 years ago) on a Saturday I would have to fly round my walk and then hot foot it to the ground. Some of the older boys in the delivery office wouldn't be so lucky! |
