I appreciate kids will pressure parents, but at some point you've got to put your foot down. I read a piece on the Beeb on Monday about how middle class families can't afford to eat out, and how parents struggle to take their kids on outings etc. Then this: £123 for a kit!

As I work in an industry that has suffered greatly from piracy, particularly in the early-mid 00's, I can never condone counterfeits etc but in this case I understand why people do. £123 for a childs shirt is nothing short of a rip-off.
The FA will spin it any way they please but it's all about squeezing the most they can out of something (which applies to most businesses these days) rather than offering a competitive, affordable product. Got to keep those shareholder dividends, executive bonuses etc at peak amounts y'know, that's what is the real driving force.

Not DHgate. But I’ve seen loads of reviews on various sites from people who have. I bought this seasons QPR shirt from a similar one, it had every single detail the same as the official.
Got a 9 and 7 year old, they live in football kits and ruin them constantly (plus outgrow them). They get an official QPR kit and the rest from DHGate. Exception was this year the eldest wanted the new England kit so got it as a birthday present (official one).
There's a reason people wear retro shirts now

I’m loathe to defer the FA, one of the most incompetent organisations in existence, but it’s Nike who set the price and reap all the profits of selling the shirt. The FA get paid a lump sum upfront by Nike for the contract to manufacture the shirt.
Same with every football club and the legendary myth of superstar players who ‘pay for themselves in shirt sales’

Fair point but I guess the FA should then find a supplier that won't rip of the FA's customers..... but that might mean a smaller lump sum to the FA so they are still a contributory factor I think.
