Not trying to defend the salaries of some of the CEOs out there which are ludicrous, but this is a full of supply chain with a ton of links and every single one of those links is looking for just a little more than the year before. You could also flip that argument that it’s a bit low that QPR are charging £45 + more than an outside supplier. If they reduced the cost by 25% they would shift more shirts and still make a decent profit. |  |

Many moons ago my brother was playing in a fairly decent band doing fairly decent venues.
He said to me would I like to go with them to a gig in Dudley and help sell some of their CD's and posters. Sure, why not, so I did.
IIRC it was £10 for each CD and £5 for a poster. None were shifting.
So I, without any conversation or approval from the band, decided to go "free poster with every CD" ..... suddenly they were selling.
At the end of the gig I told the band leader what I'd done and how much money had come in. He went silent.
I was expecting a bollocking but he actually said "Brilliant! You've brought in more money than we'd sold at any gig previously!"
Problem is, most CEO's don't think like that it's tunnel vision money, money, money thinking. It was like Briatore putting up ticket prices. Didn't have a clue that surely 'bums on seats' is the better approach as people then spend money on food & drinks, programmes, merchandise.
Pointless having a half-full stadium at twice the ticket price when you could have a full stadium at lower ticker prices but more revenue from the other aforementioned items.
It's not rocket science.... surely?

even the womens kits are full price/expensive and got worse under NIKE.
it is becoming too elite so thereby not equal so surely against all the sport for all kind of stuff?

The prices are ridiculous now. I generally buy a QPR shirt every couple of years for myself and up until this year, my son used to have a new shirt every year as part of his birthday present.
Occasionally, I used to buy Wales shirts but the latest one is £75 for a fan short and £120 for a match shirt. Far too expensive, so for the first time, I've just ordered three shirts from DHgate - total cost was £40. It will be interesting to see what the quality is like when they arrive. |  |

If they could prove that the cost is based on them providing fair wages and conditions for the people who actually make the shirts then maybe, maybe I would see it as a justifiable purchase if I knew it was going to help some one earn a fair living.
It's like coffee. I don't mind buying it at a slighter higher cost if I know it's been sourced ethically and the farmer is getting a fair chunk of the profit. I can't afford to make all my purchases with that ethos but I try where I can.
But Nike. Ha. Another scum multi-national corporation who exist just to make excessive profits that feed their shareholders. You would have thought a fairer price point means there would be a good balance where they still make a lot of profit but actually sell more kits so that more consumers can enjoy them, I guess not.

I bought my daughter a moody Lionesses England shirt just after they won the 2025 Euros, so came with CHAMPIONS on the back and winners badge on the front with sleeve patches. Under £15.00 and the quality is well, you'd never know.
She wore that around the resort in Fuerteventura last August in full view of the ample amount of German holiday makers. All good fun.

Fair point but I guess the FA should then find a supplier that won't rip of the FA's customers..... but that might mean a smaller lump sum to the FA so they are still a contributory factor I think. |
Of course they could use Jane’s Tailors and Haberdashery who can knock the kits together at a bargain price, but Janes would then just charge the market price for the product and bank a much nicer profit for themselves. | | | |

I’m loathe to defer the FA, one of the most incompetent organisations in existence, but it’s Nike who set the price and reap all the profits of selling the shirt. The FA get paid a lump sum upfront by Nike for the contract to manufacture the shirt.
Same with every football club and the legendary myth of superstar players who ‘pay for themselves in shirt sales’ |

If you can tell the difference between this and the real one you've got better eyes than me. Mrs1BH reckons they're made in the same factory! I'm sure if I had it next to the original I could see/feel some difference but not £80 fkin quids worth!

My first delivery from DHGate also arrived yesterday.
To be honest I didn't have aclue what I was doing when I first went to dabble.
I understand it a bit more now and can see it's really just a hosting platform for loads of sellers of "stuff" so you really are spinning the wheel.
Once I realised that and that the delivery would be weeks or maybe months I'd sort of forgotton about what I ordered and when it turned up I was pleasantly surprised.
It's fairly clear it's knock off once you get up close, but in terms of overall quality I'd give it 7 out of 10 with 2 out of 10 for service and delivery.
Got 3 more items coming whenever they come. If they are similar then I'll certainly dabble again. |  |

As we know, kids grow out of clothes quickly and chances are they’ve destroyed it before then anyway (most things my son has don’t last 5 mins before something is snagged, wiped on, stretched, torn etc) so why on earth would I spend £70 for a shirt. I wouldn’t pay that for a pair of jeans for myself!
So yes, I decided to give DHGate a go and yes, looks to just be a platform for sellers but happy to risk £20. I ordered a Barcelona shirt for my son and it arrived a few weeks later.
The design was spot on, the badge was ok and doesn’t look like it fall off after five mins.
7/10 for the shirt but 10/10 for the price. £20 and if it’s knackered by the autumn then that’s fine by me.
I’m not condoning buying like this but the official clubs products at extortionate prices kinda bring it on themselves. Kids shirt at £20, maybe £25 max and I’d happily buy the official one but all we are doing at the moment is lining the pockets of unnecessarily highly paid players and their agents. | | | |

I've now had six deliveries and can't quibble too much about any of them - two items are a "bit snug" on the fit but maybe that's more on me and the biscuits intake.
Decided to try a watch earlier this week so will see what that's like when it turns up.... deliveries are anything from a week to six from what I can see.
