No, sadly thats just subjective speculation. Not a cause of death. |

I wonder how many other former sportsmen are going to die at such a young age this year? Its weird how they never advise cause of death now. They just imply something. "Demons" don't ill you |

Yes, i hoped this was a sign of something. Although Trollope dod only join this year and would no doubt take the chance to work with his old mate in the EPL. We really are thin on the ground for good coaches more though it would appear |

 | Forum Reply | Are these International Breaks at 11:09 13 Nov 2025
I lost any interest in corrupt and tiresome International football some time ago. These breaks give me a chance to do something with the family that isn't football, it turns out |

A point that was made on Total Saints Podcast, is that its better to appoint a manager when its not desperate. i.e. if the wheels start falling off for Eckert following the international break, when we have a busy schedule and 10 games in the month, the damage will destroy any slim hopes of making the playoffs. Also make us a less attractive proposition in the process for any credible manager.. You also don't want a manager to be coming in then with back to back games, and meaning they have very little time to change our ineffective and failed formation.. To me it just looks like the players didn't back Still and are now just playing to the level that they should have been. I am not seeing anything from Eckert, other than him making less disruptive changes during matches. The formation and tactics still suck and we look like we could concede at any time. |

Not quite, he took over in September 2021. After the incompetent Chris Hughton had done nothing with them. He got them up that same season in the play offs. So quite an achievement. He's at Brondby though, so unlikely to walk out with significant financial compensation |
 | Forum Reply | Tonda Eckert at 20:08 10 Nov 2025
A true comparison to Eckert is much closer to home. He is likely another Ruben Selles. Who drew one and won one as temporary Manager. Neither have ever played professional football. They were both appointed in June before being promoted the same year. They both had no football playing style of their own, and just delivered an imitation of what the previous First team manager played. They would both likely be very similar disasters as First Team Managers. For some reason Eckert is being given all the credit by some for our youth team performances, despite Matt Etherington having been Under 21 coach since September 24, and therefore far more likely to have had an impact. In fact, he's a more credible appointment as Senior Manager than Eckert. Regis Le Bris is 49. He played Senior football for 10 years, including International appearances. He coached at Lorient from 2015 to 2024. Eckert is 17 years younger and has NONE of that relevant experience. Just the Ruben Selles unfathomable stare. After the disaster of Still, why jump on the Selles/Eckert bandwagon straight away? |

The guy has zero experience outside of Denmark. Let alone having any idea about Championship or English football. He did have a decent run in the Champions League in 2023. but thats it. Would be a bit like choosing Elyounoussi because he scored a goal against Man City. Fair enough on the call for Steve Cooper. Though in reality, he has achieved very little, beyond buying or loaning loads of players |
 | Forum Reply | Tonda Eckert at 21:27 8 Nov 2025
If the last three years has taught us anything, it's that we don't need another Ruben Selles tyoe character, like Eckert. Ive had more than i can bear off this tedious ineffective 5 at the back ideology. It makes for boring sideways backwards football yet seems to being no obvious benefit. If Eckert gets appointed, I'm done with going to St Mary's. I thank him for his last 2 games service. Yet the football is still turgid |
 | Forum Thread | Will Still the amnesiac visionary at 16:02 23 Oct 2025
Did anyone see the post match Bristol City interview on Sky with Will Still, where he attempted to belittle those who want us to play 4 at the back. He scoffed at fans, who he said were like his mates at the pub, and would say stupid stuff like that without seeing the bigger picture. And then divulged that he would have done the same before he became an enlightened manager and could see the more complex picture. He then went on to point out that it would of course be impossible for him to play a back 4 because he doesn't have any fit Right Backs, with Jelert and Roerslev both injured now. A weird and hubristic comment for 2 reasons: 1) when he played Jelert in the previous home match against football titans Swansea, he played him as a Right Wingback (not his natural position) in a back 5. With Wellington, who is a natural Left back, playing in the Left Wingback position. Its probably because Jelert was being asked to run up and down the whole length of the pitch, in what I think was his first league start, that has caused his lengthy injury now 2) We did have another natural Right back - in James Bree - who is proven in the Championship, who Still decided to let go to Charlton. For whom he has arguably been the player of the season so far. Whilst we purchased Roerslev I guess for his versatility - because he can be rubbsih at LB and Right Midfield too? Why is it that these apparently incompetent leaders that we have are too stupid to connect the dots or think with any great depth? |
 | Forum Reply | Leaving so soon? - Spors on his way? at 15:39 23 Oct 2025
I think you're really under estimating the job that Spors has done. We basically got all of our targets. What made them targets is a matter of debate. And I would hazard that many of the decisions that you are placing at Spors door were affected by the current manager (letting Bree, our rightback go, to be Charlton's player of the season, then Still bleating this week that we can't play 4 at the back because we don't have a right back) and the board (Spors was only appointed last season) - look at the shitshow scattergun state of the transfer "strategy" before his arrival |
 | Forum Thread | Leaving so soon? - Spors on his way? at 14:17 23 Oct 2025
I see that Juventus are in the hunt for a new Sporting Director. https://the72.co.uk/2025/10/23/southampton-juventus-johannes-spors/ I think, all things considered, Spors has done a pretty good job (bar the Damian Downs and Will Still - although we don't know how much those decisions were at Spors door). Would be a real shame to go back to square one and have the schism between the Saints business side and football side. Thats pretty much the situation where all the drift for us as a club has happened, as we saw after Jason Willcox left. And would seem to be the place where there aren't many good ones available in the market place |
 | Forum Reply | Bristol City Game Matchday Thread at 22:41 21 Oct 2025
All good up until we scored. Twine said after the match that they adjusted their approach to counter or set up. Shame that no one on our bench noticed that our had a plan to counter it |
 | Forum Reply | Free Tickets - Out of control ? at 15:06 13 Oct 2025
All those people brought in for marketing purposes get given free tickets. You know, all those ones at the front of the Northam that implore you to pull those tiresome banners over your head at the start of every game, so that you can't see the players go out. Thats no doubt the tip of the iceberg. I dread to think how many tickets get dished out free as currency, probably alongside other incentives, to get people to support campaigns that are nothing to do with the interests of paying fans who actually come to the games |

I wonder how many "astronauts" are freemasons? Oh. wait, its all of them! Is that because they all need to keep a secret ? Good old Stanley Kubrick. What a great job he did. And he told us about it in interviews and The Shining. Watch the documentary Room 237. Before they had him killed, that is. Although the excellent documentary "The Clockwork Shining" also covers the dark MK-Ultra side of all that [Post edited 26 Sep 16:01]

Strange that no one has noticed how the backline was controlled and led by Edwards. He showed the leadership everyone has been calling for, but then no one seems to be saying that he had a good game. Yes, Wood and Quashie had excellent games. It was Edwards that organised them and told everyone where to be |

Weird that people so blindly believe the garbage in the media, the state and the made up stories in places like the BBC without any actual evidence. The good old Jimmy Saville and Cliff Richard pedophile protectors. You can trust them right?!? Weird that anyone would just believe what the news tells them, unquestioningly after the last 4 years. Whilst to still be good little subservient slaves and do what your told. And then they defend their masters whilst being humiliated, made poorer and poisoned. To note, the court never found that Hall made things up, only that he harrassed supposed victims and caused them hurty feelings. They never allowed Hall to present his evidence at all. Don't you find that odd? If he was making stuff up, wouldn't you just let him present his evidence, show what the State has to counter it and case closed. But no, instead they go after the man. like always, with bluff and propaganda. Like all these mugs who believe the Salisbury Novichok was really a Russian action. Or that a few crazy Islamics really blew up the twin towers (and building 7, which wasn't hit by anything and a BBC news presenter called it before it happened) with planes because we found one of their passports at the scene. If you didn't laugh at how gullible so many of you are, you would cry. |

I didn't see it myself, but I did read posts and responded to a few in the Echo comments from fans that were. They were pretty clear that the guy (and his friend?) certainly wasn't drunk and they were pretty shocked by all of these drunk claims. They said the incident was terrible to witness and from the perspective of the poor chap that this happened to. I don't know who these people were who claimed he was drunk, but they weirdly all disappeared after the event and never commented again. Even when I followed up with a few of them to check why they claimed such a thing [Post edited 4 Nov 2024 17:04]
