The Allen dynasty - History
Nice reminder about Bradley Allen, one of those unsung heroes of the early 90s. Totally forgot how he was sold at the end of the 95-96 season, which like you say was a short-sighted move by us. With Gallen's injury, he could have stepped in and his goals might have helped us push for a play off place.
Out of the blue, an Oakwell horror show - Report
There's squad rotation and there's tinkering for the sake of it. I didn't realise until I read this report that BOS was played down the middle behind Hugill. He's been tearing up down the wing since his recall, scored a cracker in midweek and you move him away from there? Why?? Don't understand why football managers think they are somehow all powerful beings and tactical masterminds, unfortunately Warbo has the same issue as all the others. I mean come on, this is the Championship for gawds sake, it's really not that difficult.
Anyway, as Clive alluded to, this result was classic QPR. Never mind, there will be another game in a minute...
QPR click back into gear at Rovers' expense - Report
062259 (which makes me think you're a bot rather than a sentient being), you big old misery guts, will you be doing that points tally for every single game?
Oh and I agree "It was like watching two HGVs try and overtake on the A1." nice Clive, lolz for that one.
Is this thing on? Preview
Good grief I cannot believe we are here yet again. I mean there's an Ashes series going on for goodness sake. Can't we just wait till September?
Thank you Clive! I wish you and your sanity all the very best for the new season.
Barbet makes it three for Warburton’s Rangers – Signing
Welcome Yoann! As mentioned just be a bit better than Joel Lynch and that will already be a start.
"watching Joel Lynch try to read the game was like watching a dog trying to read the Financial Times." LOLZ
Keeper Kelly becomes Warburton’s first addition – Signing
@timcocking I don't quite see the issue with this signing. You need competition for places in all positions - Ingram hasn't been pushing Lumley hard enough, hence signing Kelly. Makes perfect sense to me.
Unless of course we don't find someone to take Ingram off our hands.
End of Term Report 18/19 – Midfielders
Wheeler's an interesting one. Seems to have had bad luck with injuries, never had a decent run for QPR. But he scored that goal at Middlesbrough a couple of seasons back and he seemed to get decent reviews off the back of that one game. Maybe a one off, but I'd like to think we could get more out of him. All depends on Warburton I suppose.
QPR plumb new depths in Rotherham debacle - Report
Players and coaching staff have to hold their hands up for this one. We've seen how the team can apply themselves and have a proper go, I mean we beat Leeds a few weeks ago for goodness sake. And then they turn up and do this - did they think Rotherham would just roll over, and they'd have to do the bare minimum? Forget the away games now, we just need to find a way to get as many points from our remaining home games.
QPR fall in familiar Preston hole – Report
While it would be nice to be thinking of a play off place, this season we're in a decent position to start planning ahead and seeing what the likes of Bright and Oteh are made of. Because given FFP and all the rest we really need to invest in what we have and develop any young talent that is coming through. We're not going to be able to buy the likes of Nakhi Wells any time soon. If I was Chris Ramsey and Les Ferdinand, that's what I would be leaning on McClaren to do.
