QPR provide more easy pickings for Michu and his Swans — full match report
at 18:02:31

Thanks for writing this but I could not bear reading all through it. I have stayed away from football since Saturday as the result was enough to make me turn my back.
I am now convinced that the whole Premiership experience has been a disaster and for a mixed bag of reasons (but the name Hughes figures prominently.)
Hinsight is so easy to fall back on but I was not happy when Warnock got sacked & I strongly feel that was the error which has sent us sliding.
When Neil was boss there was no sense of the team having morale problems or lack of unity.
My guess is that somewhere along the line it all went wrong in the dressing room and has still not been sorted out there. I can see no other reason for such a wealth of tallent to splutter and fail against all odds. Even the import of Rednapp has not been able to heal whatever divisions exist behind the scenes. New signings have had little effect on the field so whatever it is ,new players get sucked into the gloomy vortex that is the QPR dressing room.
I am so cheesed ,I am having to think about saturday ( I do over 100 miles for each match) will it be worth it? Will it be more humiliating disaster?

QPR humbled by MK Dons cup massacre — full match report
at 10:41:00

Agree about the entertainment factor. When I ask myself just how many matches I have enjoyed in the Prem, I only have to use one hand to count.
I am not looking forward to Tuesday night, which is a bit sad for a 45 years supporter.I am depressed and sad for my beloved QPR and I really cannot take seeing them hammered ,which may well be our fate against Man City.
I grasp at straws, Harry,Tarbs,Nelsen (frightening to think of the team without him) Hill ,Fabio,Cesar & the new guy.
maybe we can pull off a stunning shock,I dont expect it and if things go according to form I will have to drag myself along to the Norwich game.

Suarez-inspired Liverpool accelerate QPR descent — full match report
at 22:04:55

Agree with most of the comments about the match but dont feel as pessimistic.
Suarez was so fantastic and I think he destroyed any vestige of confidence among the the Hoops. I still feel Rednapp will get results, as for Fernandes,he is a multi millionaire!Nobody gets that without F***ing others on the way ,so for me he is just another owner toying with a footie team. When the fans chant his name it always irritates me, I,m not keen on rich bastards and I see no reason to feel differently about this one just because he happens to have QPR as one of his hobbies.

Redknapp blasts Foy as West Brom complete QPR double — full match report
at 12:34:09

Didnt make the game due to being too far away & weather made journey impossible. However on MotD I was astonished to see Green well behind the goal line before the ball came over for the OG. Why the hell was he standing in a position like this? If there was a foul it was a very borderline one. I hope Cesar gets the shirt back as Green always makes me feel nervous and it would not surprise me if that is a feeling he transmits to the rest of the defence.

Mackie’s best efforts in vain as Villa game slips away — full match report
at 10:49:05

I found the report a tad pesimistic. If Hughes had gone earlier I suspect things would look roseier, but even as it is, there is still a bit of hope. If we put a few wins together starting with Wigan, matters may look quite different by the New Year.I agree that the problem lies with our undoubtably talented players (most of them!) who,for whatever reason are constantly underperforming. Its Rednapps job to get more out of them & if he can do it we should see the evidence very soon. Alternatively ,if we continue to mis-fire as we did on Saturday then the rest of the season is a depressing prospect.

Redknapp aims to bring the fun times back to Loftus Road - full match preview
at 08:54:31

I reckon I have really enjoyed only 2/3 matches over the past 2 seasons. Its correct to say that things have been particularly dull under Hughes. I wish he had gone a month earlier as then we would have had a better chance of staying up.
I fear that a point today will not be enough, not only for the scoreboard but for morale also. The team desperately need that confirmation that they can win games.
Not happy about your comments about Torres ,Clive. I agree he has been shite at Chelsea (and I am glad he has been) but the stuff about being effeminate etc is not what I expect from you. Getting ready to catch a train to London and while not oozing with confidence I am sure that Harry will make a difference.

Beware the pitfalls of a Redknapp coronation
at 14:02:22

Rednap is much more like Warnock and that makes me a bit happier with this appointment. In a sense we are going back to a management with some affinity with the fans and a good track record. The priority is to keep us up and hopefully once that is done the owners will look around for a young whippersnapper to push things on.
Cant wait for the Sunderland match to see who is on the team sheet.

Hung by his own players, Hughes now in untenable position — full match report
at 09:39:12

My neighbour was widowed some time ago & over a period of time it seems that his 2nd is gradually eliminating all trace of her predecessor. Does Hughes hate Warnock so much that he is determined to follow the same policy? Judging by NW's recent comments he certainly thinks this is what is going on. I cannot believe this to be the case but if true it means our manager has the balls of a fluffy 12 year old.
Saturday was like going through an operation without anaesthetic. I felt like crying for Ryan Nelsen, he has been a rock (maybe a whole quarry of rocks) since coming to our club. He alone is proof that there is something seriously wrong. His wages are probably less than most of the newer "stars" yet his committment is like a man who has worn the Hoops since birth. Why should he be like this and the rest of the pack are such a bunch of tossers?
From day one I have been suspicious of Hughes, more recently on this site, when relegation was mentioned,I shuddered and put the this impossible thought to the back of my head. Today, with my realist hat on I have to admit it is staring us in the face. Clearly we need a miraculous turnaround and on Saturday it was hugely evident that this will not happen under our current manager. Did any Hoops fan really think we would actually get worse!!!!
He must go & soon as the new man will need as much time as possible to steer us away from the rocks.
I am still having nightmares about our 2nd half "performance on saturday. Please Tony ,do it & do it now!.

Pulis remains the man with the plan — opposition focus
at 08:56:52

Meanwhile the latest excuse from MH is that Bobby is not scoring due to an injury to another player!! (Andy J.) If the latter was fit I suspect its him who would be scoring and not BZ. Hopefully this will be our turnaround game but I am not too hopeful.

Gorkss haunts lifeless QPR again as winless run goes on — full match report
at 09:40:04

"Gladly take 17th". Why dont you go all the way and hope for a return to the Championship? No fan can seriously contemplate the prospect of their team struggling all season to survive by fingernails. You must be the only one who "enjoyed" last season.

The Mark Bowen Interview — Open All R’s Podcast
at 09:27:24

There is also a suggestion that poor results are entirely down to the players.Bowen seems to be saying that they are properly prepared & strategies worked out for matches but on the field they go out & lo & behold! do something different! Doesnt sound plausible to me. Like all mangement, they dont accept responsibility and defend themselves at the expense of those actually doing the job. The fans cant really "help to get out of this mess". We started the season in full voice but as time drips away its very difficult to maintain enthusiasm when you are watching crap.I would love to spend just 5 minutes in the dressing room before a match,I feel there is a problem there and it must be obvious to see. Obviously we continue with our support as best we can, a few wins would help.

Gorkss haunts lifeless QPR again as winless run goes on — full match report
at 10:19:47

It looks like we will eventually see the team we have all wanted on the pitch since the start of the season.Even Hughes must see that Faurlin must play and that Cisse & Mackie should always start. What worries me now is that the good, committed players we do have in the team might begin to lose heart due to the overall state of affairs. Granero is beginning to look fed up & the rumours about Real Betis are alarming. Zamora & Boswinga have clearly given up. Should the rot spread to Adel & Ryan we might as well resign from the Prem.
I have been lukewarm about Hughes since Warnock got the push.He really does not have a great record as a manager ,it is his apparent lack of motivational ability that worries me most.I dont know what he said in the dressing room but I am sure if Olly had been there instead they would have come out with a clear view of what was expected of them.
I am still reluctant to say he should go but as the situation becomes more desperate the time for a new man to turn things round is gradually reducing.
These days I have to travel 130 miles to the games & on Sunday suffer the chaos that is our rail "service". Frankly I am getting fed up losing 8 hours of my life every time I go to the Bush and have to watch shit.
I love the R's and it depresses me greatly to see them so awful. Where is the fun,the excitement, the pure joy of winning? Stoke is a test for any team and normally I would be happy with a point. I think Fernandes should tell MH a win is essential for his continued employment.

Hughes sleeps soundly as Reading six pointer approaches — full match preview
at 08:53:24

The situation looks much worse this morning than it was 2 days ago. Up until then we were in a group of 6/8 teams all struggling for points. THis has been transformed into a situation where we are one of 3 teams most certainly involved in a relegation battle. We are now cut off from the main pack and in a desperate situation.I cannot remember such an important "must win" game as todays. (Apart from every Chelsea match.)

Arsenal catastrophe leaves Royals at a crossroads — opposition focus
at 09:27:48

Yes the "too much change" theory seems to fit. Even now after many months our team seems to be a collection of transient players who are only in the team because they happened to be available at a point when our owner was about to panic and had a few bob to spend. As I have said before only Granero,Nelsen & Cesar (+ Park to some extent) give a real sense of getting out there and giving it their all. Basically demonstrating a similar committment as players who are more established Hoops eg Mackie,Faurlin,Taraabt & Hill. Can this be said of Zamora etc? I dont think so. The problem about players coming to the end of their career is that they are well aware of it and they just want a well paid contract to see them through to the armchair rather than younger players (Hoilett) who have got it all ahead of them.We need to be patient and hopefully we will remain in the Prem until the point when we are no longer reliant on aging mercenaries (Cisse) and our squad has more of a "homely" fit. I have to admit that Ryan Nelsen & Cesar do not fit this model..perhaps they are just super blokes who would go out and do their best no matter what their job is.
Anyway Sunday is looming over my head like a dark cloud.I am hoping for the best but feel it is as predictable as the throw of a dice.

Oliver returns for Reading clash
at 09:12:49

Its not the referee we need to be concerned with its Reading! Last nights game rings the alarm bells as they outplayed Arsenal for half the game & showed real spirit throughout. I guess this makes Sundays match a supreme test for R,s as they are up against a team that will fight & fight. They have exactly what we have lacked all season...spunk! We can only hope that MH has somehow developed motivational skills over the past week and we come out of the tunnel with real fire and spirit (and without Park & SWP!)

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before — full match report
at 09:14:42

I guess we are all fed up. The early season expectations are long gone and as I walk up Blomfontein I have little feeling of excitement, instead I approach each game with some trepedation. How long is it since we REALLY enjoyed a game?
Holding Chelsea was good but hardly a thriller. Football is supposed to be entertainment for Gods sake! Its like watching a much loved child fail all their exams. We have some super players (many of the bottom half clubs have team sheets which ring very few bells) and yet the manager seems totally incapable of sending them out with the passion ,speed & grit which we expect. For me Ryan Nelsen embodies everything I want & admire in football, he gives 110% of what he is able to give and does it fairly and sportingly. If only the manager contributed similarly. He is grim, gray and gormless, I really hope this changes for the next 3 games and we find ourselves with 10 points before the Man U. fixture. I dont like him but I am desperate for us to avoid a change of boss. I reckon whats keeping him in a job is Fernades awareness of how much it will cost to replace him. For this reason ,I suspect he will stay ,right up to Man U, but if we still bottom he will then go.
Nice to see Chelsea do well yesterday!
