Surprised Rathbone was dropped for the start of the season to be honest. Thought he was our best player in pre-season and carries easily the best goalscoring threat of any of our central midfielders, much fitter and more reliable than Camps imo too.

Rathbone in for Camps at Fleetwood for me and let's see what he can do in a bit more of an advanced role

I would expect him to be in the middle of the back three. An error at 3-1 down when we were chasing the game is not the end of the world.

Williams was out for a long time with a knee injury. I am sure he is just been given a rest as a precaution. I think he will be a key player for us this season.

He will be a key player for us wherever he plays.

As mentioned earlier, tonight was a chance for some to make an impact and get into the league side. Rathbone is ahead of Camps for me right now.

Agreed. Ollie has to start on Saturday after this. Camps has been near anonymous for almost a year now.

What's going on with Callum? Not the same player since his illness, but can't be still due to that can it?

He’s played well. His second goal came out of nowhere. Sheer instinct.

From the Twitter feed it appears that we have played better in the second half and have been more secure at the back. Is that the case?

My only worry is it makes for a lightweight midfield. For me it's Cannon or Camps and Inman or Rathbone. A midfield of Perkins, Rathbone and Inman is lacking physicality and would only work against certain teams.

Great for Rathbone though and the more 'positive' headaches for Hill the better! Be interesting now to see what he does at weekend.

Definitely. And now Camps has gone centre back.

Thanks.

It is interesting that Hill wants a ball player in the middle of the three. Obviously Jim Ramos was filling that role for the most of tonight!

Full time. Thoroughly deserved apart from a jittery spell in the first half. Two great goals for Rathbone and a game that also highlights the versatility of some of our other players, too.

He’s better in the middle of a back three, that’s for sure. He did okay in the main tonight.

To be fair to Jim he is a steady player and did alright last season. He offers good depth to the squad but I would not start him above McGahey, Williams or Delaney.

He’s believed the hype.

He thinks he’s a championship player, when in reality his form over the last 12 months has been below league two.

Leader of the little gang of immature cretins.

Instinctively agree with that but maybe McNulty (yes, more comfortable @ central CB) adds a bit of leadership to a very young back line with MJ which got caught out on Saturday 3 times.
