In a sense, for the first time in five or six years, we’re not a “big gun” in the draw this time, especially given current form.
That means we might fly under the radar a bit.
Be nice to play a non league team at home and try and sneak through to the third round that way.
I certainly wouldn’t fancy us against any League One side at the moment or a decent Conference side away but it’s the cup and you never know!

In terms of local non-league sides remaining in the 4th Qualifying Round there's the likes of Altrincham, Southport, Curzon Ashton, Marine, Halifax & Stockport, though the last thing we need is to draw County again.

In purely financial terms, two home draws against beatable opposition to give us a chance of a third round tie at Old Trafford or Anfield would be the best outcome.

If Dale aren't playing or I can't get to an away fixture on a Saturday I'll always look for a non-league game to go to and Buxton is always one of the first clubs I look for, but I've still not managed to get over there yet. | |
