Didn't see today's game as I'm away but the WhatsApp group were pretty damming of the performance.
70mins of Hendo right now is better than 70mins of 'Dave' or even Manni D right now as at least Hendo still has that one moment of magic left in his boots.
The next two game are huge, win them both and we are at least in touch with York going into that final day fixture, Jim would have no excuse to play in his favoured conservative way that day if a win would be the only way that we'd finished above York.

However people want to view how we play, McNulty and his management team send the players out to win every game.
Which shows in the 31 games won out of 43. More than any other wins in the club’s history.
For a manager who's post-match interviews have so often been all about performance, to stop mentioning performance of late speaks volumes. For the vast majority of this record breaking season, Dale have been great to watch. This team has been woeful to watch over the past few games. In Jim's first NL season in charge, he mentioned that the way we played (i.e. bloody negatively, tippy tappy backwards, boring and ineffectual) was due to circumstances behind the scenes we know about all too well. Those times are well and truly gone with our fantastic owners, who have supported Jim to the hilt. Apart from the last ten minutes at Sutton, why have we played that old awful way for the last three games? We scored twice against Morecambe through brilliant individual shots. 77% sideways backwards possession and 15 corners resulting in 0 goals got us nowhere. We played worse today with a team that offered sloth and boredom as its main weapons. Where were the shots on goal today? It's reverting to the worst of Jim when we need the best of Jim. Why?
I dislike show tunes, but this oldie seems relevant.

We still might. I'll stand by what i've posted all season, irrespective of anyone else's opinion: the record of failing at the last hurdle is down to psychology; not form, not system, not injuries (all teams have them)
Just watched the York highlights and they were so fortunate their equaliser stood. Banks clearly fouls his marker allowing him a free run into the box to finish. Hopefully Tamworth do us a favour in the early kick off next Saturday. They got a great draw today at Halifax including an injury time penalty save from Jas Singh. Tamworth's forwards looked a handful against us and hopefully their plastic pitches is a help too. Obviously we have to somehow get our confidence back and beat Wealdstone but its now or never - after seeing Spennymoor and Southend both celebrating on our pitch last season the players surely can't want York doing the same!

Same as Friday. Slow and tired. Can't even argue with York scoring late. They probably had more shots in the last 5 minutes than we've had for two games. Awful.

It was good to see Tobi back and there was a couple of breaks through on the right with him/Gordon linking up as we all saw earlier this season.
Hopefully he can get up to full match speed and we might see a return to the crosses that Mani thrives on and have been sorely missed.
Great save by Ollie early on, BPM hitting the post and that was about it really.
As we walked away some Hartlepool yoof were singing ‘you lost the league at Victoria Park’
We didn’t as the table shows of course, but their defensive set up and draw means they are effectively out of the playoff race now completely. Well worth celebrating the draw, lads.
It certainly negated our threat but the boos from their fans as Ollie was allowed to walk to half way with the ball were loud from home stands.
Need to beat Wealdstone no matter what York do next Sat. Confidence booster for all concerned.

Our commitment to Jim’s style is fine when the win and 3 points masks the pretty turgid sideward backwards watch.
I am not a fan at all of the slow ponderous style and have not been for two season but we are now at the business end and we can still get promoted and win this National League.
Match Yorks results over the next two Saturdays and set up the finale every neutral has been calling for weeks. The players need to revert and play!! Like they know and we know they can.
A collective honest self assessment session today would not be the worse thing.. what do these players need this week to get their mojo / swagger back by Saturday?

Thats a great question... its almost completely mental attitude now, they are not going to get any fitter, so a few days off, or maybe doing something different..Its now about who wants it, who can cope with the stress, who has the inner power to finish the job. Going into the playoffs having lost the title race would create more problems... Jim and his backroom staff have to earn their corn now. Concentrate on domination, not just competing, make the concious decision to win and trust that the habits built over the season will see them through. 300 minutes to become legends....

I think the return of Harvey Gilmour will do us the world of good, now he's got a good few minutes under his belt you'd hope he will be 90%+ come Saturday.
EEL, and all too often Perry, fail to play a forward pass, Gordon is happy to run with it so it's not a problem there, but now we have Gilmour back, he will come short and give our defence more of an option, which I feel we have been lacking the last month or so.
The main hope is that Rodney gets some confidence from somewhere, as he really has been a shadow of his previous self recently, far too often he's misplacing passes or the ball bounces from him, thus meaning we are losing possession and not creating chances. And where Mani's ability to turn on a sixpence has gone to, I don't know, but we need that back come Saturday.
Let's have some balls in the box too, we have a giant of a striker there!!
