You should be a politician, that's the sort of thing they would come out with, especially as everyone knows we're referring to league games.

The statement was lost 6 back to back games in a row, which is not true. Nothing to do with politics, just an incorrect statement which makes things sound a lot worse than they are ( which IS politics).

Exactly. Whilst not brilliant and the situation needs to be addressed, we aren’t being hammered every week and have still won football matches recently. I think most reasonable people can see that Ralph is doing what he can with the hand he has been dealt and let’s face it, it has been a rubbish few weeks for injuries and poor referring decisions. A number of Premier clubs would be delighted to have him as their manager l’m sure. He has shown himself to be a quality manager and people don’t become bad managers overnight.

You could be right, but as you seem to now just how big our club actually is, it must be a very sobering thought when you look at that position compared to your own club.

On a brighter note at least we can't say you are in our shadow, our shadow doesn't reach that far

Your club has had all the opportunities afforded to it, by having 3 underachieving clubs nearby, with the options of taking a lot of the best local players. Those days have been slowly closing shut for some time. You achieved what you achieved, and in terms of size got as big as you will ever get. Stats don't lie, a bigger club would have built a 40k stadium, and had more top ten finishes.

The best thing you could have done was enjoy the good times, and log the memories. Brighton, Bournemouth and Pompey are now different animals, and will be solid top two clubs from here on in, when Pompey eventually get promoted. The best youngsters will now inevitably be split between the clubs, and the best run club will have a few years in the limelight before another catches up.

This isn't a rambling post, it's a fact that the 4 clubs have never been solid top two tier teams before, and had solid foundations previously such that more and more youngsters will stay in the area. Pompey will get up at some stage soon, and I can't two of the clubs dropping down again to the third tier for some while.

Your only hope is that the south becomes more of a footballing hotspot, and more footballing blood is spread in the area, because the days of relying on Pompey to provide you with a conveyer belt of local talent are over.

On a brighter note, at least the eyesore that is Fawley Power Station will be dismantled at some stage in the future, and the only local lofty architectural shadow for your town will be the Spinnaker Tower.

You better hope Fawley Power Station doesn't get dismantled too soon or else a few lights might go out in Pompey.

Well since I’ve been watching saints in 71 you’ve mainly bumped along in the bottom leagues in a shed in front of many 8’000 average crowds in the 70’s / 80’s , cheated a cup final , robbed from charities hardly an achievement is it ? Oh sorry I almost forgot you did well in the premier league didn’t you ? How many points was it when you were relegated ? I can’t be arsed to look. Still at least you have your clown with a bell to keep you happy and you do have the best fans in England. Ner Ner Ner.

Poll: Would you take an Fa Cup win if it meant relegation to the championship ?

We got smashed 9-0 ffs

When you Ralph has been dealt a bad hand. He’s been here nearly 2.5years and shaped the squad. If he felt he didn’t have enough cover don’t let lemina, eliyousy ( however you spell it) sims , Valery and Hoedt go out on loan. Anyone could see this was going to be a physically hard season.

If we had a full 1st first eleven on the pitch for the full match you would have a point. As it is it was a freak match. If you want to focus on that and forget the excellent run we had last year with the same manager and squad, so be it. Do you know that it was all down to Ralph that the players have been farmed out?

How many times did Howe lose 9-0?

How many games on the trot does he lose before you think there's a problem. That was our strongest team out on sunday against a team that cant score. Low and behold they score twice.

Ralph wont be sacked as we cant afford it. But with what he has he shouldnt be losing 6 on the trot.

With what he has, we shouldn't have been top of the PL either.

It was great being top of the league, but it was for 1/2 a day as all the other hands had games in hand. Lets not blow it out of proportion.
