Looking at last season’s final Championship table makes sobering reading.
The top 2 both conceded less than 40.
Luton went up in the play-offs and also conceded less than 40.
Out of the other 3 teams in the play-offs, 2 conceded over 50, but one of them (Boro) scored 84….
The highest-placed team to concede over 60 was…….. Swansea in 10th.
It really is simple; if we don’t defend better, we won’t even get in the play-offs. |  |

The trend has been for us to make hay against the poorer sides (Rotherham apart), but struggle against the top sides (Leeds apart).
Teams who struggle to defend rarely do well in the play-offs; obviously these would be against some of the better sides, who we are struggling to beat.

The less you concede the easier it is to get more points tho
And we concede at will particularly after we score and it seems in quick succession which would suggest poor coaching
