Is it any good Dave?

Took a fallow year 2024 and obviously 2025 cancelled so it’s been a while and I haven’t seen the changes.

Alongside a trialist left back who scored and assisted recently in a development squad game.

So along with Esqueridinha, RND, a currently incapacitated Larkeche and the trialiist and this ex premierahip left back, the position goes from worst.covered to best in an instant !!!

Think right back and goalkeeper are the two positions we are leaat.lacking in terms of quality.and depth tbh now but hey ho !!!

Jamal Lewis just here to get fit, i would assume, nothing more than that.

It's very different, I'm finding it a bit difficult to get usesd to the new layout, feels more like a playstation game now.
I'm old so I don't like change but I'm sure I will get used to it

Lots of people are saying it's not very good which is a shame, you would have thought with 2 years development they might have a great game. How bad a state must it have been in last year if people are still saying it is under developed. They have taken out things like international management which is not good, obviously it wasn't great before but to completely bin it off is bad.

I'll still get it though.

Stupid decision, as the World Cup is next year, and they won't have 2026 out by then.

I bet they do an update with it in, just in time for the WC or even worse, make you pay for it. I suspect that's their sneaky plan.

I'm 13 years clean on FM, so leaving the thread to avoid triggering myself.

That said I do play cricket with a load of lads who work for SI so can grief them on your behalf if anyone has some direct feedback

I've also heard it's not great, but the issue seems to be more their decision to change the UI to fit more for a controller / console player, which seems a poor decision for me as it's always at it's core been a laptop or PC style gaming experience...

I'm tempted to try it but might wait a few weeks until updates kick in and fix some bugs, etc.

It has been hilarious watching grown men abusing each other on social media over whether or not the latest edition of FM is any good - With many forgetting its a Beta and not the finished article.

For now I will stick with FM24 but like several have already mentioned I will eventually try the free trial and decide from there

Lets not forget, one of our own used to be involved in the development of FM. Would be interested to hear from him as a former employee on his take

Bit like Robith I gave up on FM years ago. The games were just getting more and more complex in their quest for "realism", took absolutely ages to get anywhere, and it made it feel more like an actual second job that I don't get paid for than something to have easy enjoyment from in downtime.

I do keep an eye on it far from afar per se, it seems to me they're going after the FIFA market with how they keep trying to develop the 3D game, but FIFA players don't want the nitty gritty that FM has always been, and FM players don't want FIFA arcades.

Feels a bit potentially like a business thats lost its way a bit as far as the gaming goes, but if I'm right I believe they absolutely coin it in now from their database being used by real world clubs/scouts etc?

Mobile version is the best, here they keep it simple.
Also, free with Netflix.

Worth trying the mobile version, especially if you have Netflix as it's free.

I didn't love it at first but it's grown on me and has a similar balance of speed to play and detail as cm0102 which I think is still the Pinnacle of striking that balance.
