| QPR being sued on 14:25 - Feb 12 with 4616 views | KensalT | He's basing his damages on text messages from Paul Hall comparing him favourably with Eberechi Eze and Ilias Chair! Good luck making that stick: "Bansal-McNulty’s case is based on his contention that QPR and Crawley failed to protect him from abuse by Yems, which he claims led to the end of his professional career and significant psychological damage. In documents submitted to the tribunal, seen by the Guardian, he is claiming for a net award of £6.1m, with the gross figure £11.1m before tax. His legal team produced as part of their evidence text messages from QPR’s former professional development coach Paul Hall, in which he compared Bansal-McNulty favourably with two other players he worked with at Loftus Road, Eberechi Eze and Ilias Chair." | | | |

Here's the whole article: "Queens Park Rangers and Crawley Town are being sued for more than ÂŁ11m by a former player who is claiming they failed to protect him from alleged racist banter that he says destroyed his career. The Championship club are joint defendants with Crawley in a claim currently being heard at the Central London Employment Tribunal, brought by the former Northern Ireland Under-21 international Amrit Bansal-McNulty, who is suing for ÂŁ11.1m for a loss of opportunity and personal injury. Both clubs have denied wrongdoing. ... https://www.theguardian.com/fo

It's a tricky one, as he's suing for loss of potential future earnings. I had a friend who was playing in L1 football and had a nasty leg break in a cup game. He got a letter from David Pleat saying Spurs were interested and based the case off hi moving there at some point. They settled for somewhere no party was happy, as I'm sure will be the case here. I'm not sure how I feel about this to be honest. We send these boys out to be exposed to "Men's" football and it sounds like thats what they got in this situation, with a bit more to boot! I've had some arsehole bosses in my time, but I'm not sure they stopped me from winning the metaphorical world cup... | | | | Login to get fewer ads
| QPR being sued on 15:18 - Feb 12 with 4218 views | Hoopstar | I was at a Crawley game when he was on loan there (nearest league side) and remember how amazed I was at the size of him. Not sure he'd have made the flyweight class at the time and looked completely unsuited to League Two football. He didn't get on the pitch so can't comment if he was any good, but he was Chair sized minus the heft that Chair possesses in abundance for one his size. That Crawley side was awful however, and if you couldn't get a game there... | | | |

It'll hinge on this conversation with Ramsey. If ABM has gone to his 'line manager' (Ramsey) and explicitly told him what Yems was saying, doing etc and Ramsey has said "that's life kid, get yourself back there" then we'll have a problem. If he's vaguely said that Yems is a bit of a cnt and he hates him but not mentioned the racism specifically and Ramsey has said "that's football kid, get used to it" then there's less of a case. According to that piece ABM says it's the former and Ramsey says it's the latter. Hopefully Ramsey's record in this regard will stand us in good stead.

| QPR being sued on 15:38 - Feb 12 with 4070 views | TomS | I feel sorry for Paul Hall. All he was clearly trying to do was boost a young player's confidence. If Harry Redknapp told a reporter that a young player in the reserves, with no first team appearances, could be as good as Luka Modric, would you rely on that as evidence in Court for a multi million pound claim? | | | |

I wouldn't rely on Redknapp to tell me the time. As for the case, and as I work in this field, I reckon he'll be awarded something but (hopefully) only against Crawley, probably a five figure sum, based mainly on what he was subjected to and not on his dream of being a megastar, which was never going to happen.

ABM won't get very far unless he can corroborate what he says he said to Ramsey. He won't win if it's just his word v Ramsey!

He really wasn't that good. While with us he went on loan to Torquay (National League), Dartford (National League South), Como (Serie C) and Crawley (League 2) and racked up a total of 13 appearances during those 4 loans. That, I think, tells us all we need to know about his footballing ability.

He was one of those many players who look good at five a side but all at sea in the men’s game. At the post above says, featherweight. Was never ever going to make it as a professional footballer.
