A woman with some guts and one who corbyn cannot handle ,in any way ,in Parliament As an aside ,I doubt she d allow that filth to soil her stilletoes Let's be honest, if you're a Tory hater ,they are never gonna be right. Lie after lie with her Perch. She is pure evil. Corbyn has ruined her a few times at PMQT's if you care to watch, no wonder she does not want televised debates before the election as she is finding it hard to cover her lies.

Has she said she doesn't want televised debates John?

May "June General Election" on 17:12 - Apr 18 with 2493 views | Ebo | Channel 4 news just said it. If the broadcasters decide to abandon the debates because Theresa May refuses to participate, they'd clearly and undeniably be giving her a massive helping hand in avoiding her pathetic inability to deal with unscripted situations, so the only unbiased option the broadcasters now have is to hold the debates regardless of her threats to not participate, featuring an empty podium for the Tory party if she refuses to turn up.

Corbyn has ruined her? When? He regularly misses open goals,. has to rely upon fabricated letters from people as a gimmick.

Surrey texts *cough* she cannot counter argument off the cuff only scripted. She's weaker than Corbyn in a debate and she knows it.

Corbyn can't even effectively work on scripted material! Corbyn's debating approach is that of the Islington faux-socialist dinner party style. As in, play to those who simper around you, waffle about nothing in general and then conclude you won the argument.

All May can do is laugh and jeer like her brain dead colleagues. Never a coherent answer only lies and jeers. If only Skinner was years younger, he'd bury her in minutes.

Well it won't be long for the electorate to show what they they think of Corbyn, there's hell of a lot of Labour MP's already looking for alternative employment

I just cannot fathom that there are enough people who hate the tories in this country yet will not vote for the opposition. Vote for the policies not the man.

All Corbyn can do is ramble in the vague hope a question might be formed from his monologues. Skinner may bury her, he looks the type who would hit a woman.

Why? We never used to go that route of staged, setup events for the purpose of TV ratings? It's one of the worst aspects of US politics deliberately designed to be confrontational. Indeed, I recall some Labourites hating the concept.

May "June General Election" on 19:44 - Apr 18 with 2331 views | Ebo | She is refusing a televised debate - what does that tell you? Clearly not being a leader is she. There again she probably feels she doesn't need one with the media writing her scripts. Yet again we will have a vote made up of people who are very misinformed by her right wing buddy Murdoch, that's exactly what she wants.

May on 19:58 - Apr 18 with 2312 views | Kerouac | Strategically 'Live Debates' are a bad idea...it gives the other parties the chance to gang up on her in front of hostile audiences . They are hand picked to represent the different parties equally...but that is not how the populace looks. Feck all people are voting Green and Plaid...add in the SNP, UKIP, Lib Dems and Labour and you have only a hostile UKIP on Theresa's side. She doesn't need to do this, she just needs to stick to the message and stay positive...the public have had enough of the negativity from 'Remain'. SNP, Plaid and Labour have become a joke (for different reasons). The Tories will be happy to deny the opposition the platform and watch Labour attempt to explain their position to the public...it is laughable. The Nationalists will be laughed at for their stance of wishing for Independence while pledging to sign up to the EU. The only party of the Left that will profit will be the Lib dems...because our guys have been consistent and mean it, Lib Dems who hold my position are as rare as worthwhile contributions to a political discussion from Darran Prosser. The backdrop to the election will be chaos and possibly terrorist atrocities in Europe. She will win and the Labour Party will be smashed. I have a sneaking fancy that the SNP will lose some seats also. [Post edited 18 Apr 2017 19:59]

May "June General Election" on 20:43 - Apr 18 with 2270 views | Nogginthenog | Rejoicing in the Tories trouncing Labour is pretty shocking really, this country needs an alternative to these nasty coonts make no mistake. We can all see the unjustness in the wealth being concentrated in the hands of a small minorty of greedy bastards. If you want more of the same go ahead and ride full steam ahead over the poor and sick.

May "June General Election" on 20:57 - Apr 18 with 2233 views | jack247 | I'm miles out of my comfort zone talking about politics, so there is probably a simple and logical answer to this, but isn't who is better at running the country more important than who is better in a live televised debate?

Possibly. But a televised debate may help some people decide who they feel would be best at running the country.

Except those televised debates are a farce. Nowhere near long enough to really go over things in minute detail so all you get is highly over prepared soundbites. TV companies don't want a debate. They want the snarling nastiness, they want controversial comments. They wanted to see clashes, would love UKIP / Tories / Labour tearing lumps out of each other. Take C4 news today - Farron's religious based views on homosexuality came up. Would C4 do the same to Muslim MPs who voted against same sex marriage for example? Of course not... C4 just want the big headline. Anything Tim "as popular as a cold mouldy fish finger" Farron said on topic will be ignored, C4 just wanted him painted as homophobic - an issue the majority won't be interested in. TV debates reward style over substance. Now, would some people like to see the debates? Sure - we've a borderline ADHD society these days hence the emergence of soundbite politics. Problem is, too many would judge only on said debates, rationale people would just consider them one part of the choice.

I don't really care either way to be honest. The outcome of this election is a forgone conclusion abd no amount of debates will change it. . Except to say that if May had been in favour and Corbyn refusing your own position would be entirely reversed.
