Any recommendations?

When I've tried picking it up in the past I've been self taught and invariably lost heart and gave up when I didn't feel like I was progressing. Thinking that actual lessons with someone who knows what they're doing may make a difference

Not sure how important this needs to be when picking a tutor, but I want to play metal

Learn some other styles too otherwise you will get stagnant and bored, the sure way to get out of a guitar rut is to challenge yourself to learn something different.

Thank you, goodnight and bollocks

What kind of metal Blaze? And on a six string I guess? I know my way around a guitar and have solid music theory. Depends on what bands you wish to emulate first. That way, skills can be tailored to you!
True Ebo - I've recently learned Big Love, as played by Buckingham solo, as well as Jose Gonzalez songs and open tuning songs by Marr of the Smiths.

Treat for any Muso. Catch Tom Bukovac - Homeskoolin, warning this could end up with you binning said instrument.

Leland Sklar is another for you Bassists.

Do you just want to be a shredder or do you want to be more versatile? I do know a few teachers but one in particular I can put you in touch with will give you a good appreciation of why things are done in certain ways, from scales to BB King five note solos, to metal. He can use tabs so you don’t need to learn notation. He’s currently offering tutorials on zoom and he’ll send you the tab for what you’ve gone through in the lesson. Let me know if you want me to put you in touch.
